HO / Sprung turnouts
October 30, 2007, 09:51:53 PM
I remember reading an article some years back about adding a spring similar to those used on PECO turnouts to help push the point rails against the stock rails for better electrical contact and positive track alignment. Can anyone remember where this article might be from? Or, has anyone done this and could give me an idea. I'm using code 70 Shinohara turnouts.

As always thanks in advance.

On30 / Handlaying On30 track
March 27, 2007, 07:56:10 PM
Hi all,

Another couple of newbie O scale questions. I'm in the middle of building my O scale Keystone sawmill and want to handlay some On30 rail next to it.

Will On30 wheel flanges clear code 70 rail? (I'm assuming it will but would like to check)

I'm going to cut my own ties. What would be an appropriate length and  size be? ie 4X6, 4X8????

Thanks as always

The floor is all built as are most of the walls and machinery

On30 / Sawmill figures in O scale
March 05, 2007, 12:05:38 AM
Hi all,

I was at our annual tain show this weekend and came across a Keystone Danby sawmill in O scale. I model in HO and have built one in that scale, but...couldn't resist the O scale as soon as I opened the box and saw all those metal castings.. I'm planning on setting aside my Sierra West kit and building the mill  for display at the NMRA meet here later this year. I'd like to find some operators for the mill. Could someone point me in the direction of a manufacturer who makes such items?

Many Thanks in advance
