N / Bachmann's NE Caboose - A Winner!
December 26, 2011, 11:59:53 AM
The new Bachmann NE Caboose is an amazingly good model! Body mounted couplers, window glass, and good ride height!

Compares favorably to Atlas NE-6 (except Atlas got the lettering correct!)

Overall, a great model, especially for the money. The Andrews trucks (incorrect for N&W) look to be an easy swap (couplers are body mounted). The stove pipe needs "adjustment". The roofwalk is molded in, but looks nice.

A few more views from my el cheapo camera:

The WM Version:

They even tooled the floor surfaces on the end platforms (ie they aint just smooth like on the GP7).

Happy Holidays (where applicable)

I was surprised to see that Bachmann is tooling up a completely new freight car in N scale: ;D

"Canadian" Covered Hopper

(Bachmann HO Model shown).

Anybody know when the real prototype for these were built and who actually rostered them?

I have a bunch of these - these are really excellent models.

So thank you Bachmann for producing these along with your Excellent Class J loco!

Hopefully someday we'll get some N scale Y6bs and As to put in front of these beauties! (for now I run one behind my Rivarossi Y6b).

I heard a rumor that Bachmann may release more road names on the 44T - so here's a suggestion!

Cheers,

N / Something to pull behind your N&W J!
September 03, 2009, 06:01:27 PM
According to the latest Rapido Telegraph, they may cancel many of their announced N scale passenger cars - unless they get more reservations in. So if you were thinking about getting a few cars to pull behind your J get your reservation in! (I ordered two of the coaches).

N / Tenders from Bachmann
August 29, 2008, 12:06:01 PM
Huge props to Bachmann for offering steam tenders separately! ;D

This tells me that someone here is really paying attention. Thanks for setting a great example for the other N scale steam manufacturers.

May 06, 2008, 05:21:06 PM
I dropped one of my F7s damaging the shell pretty heavily. Are F7 shells available?

Thanks!
