HO / Backwoods Miniatures On30 Saddle Tank Disassembly?
October 27, 2019, 10:51:22 PM
I have a Backwoods Miniatures On30 2-6-0 Saddle Tank. It uses the HO 0-6-0 saddle tank mechanism but I can't figure out how to remove the body to get to the mechanism to a dd DCC and Sound. Anyone know how to remove the body from one of these little beasts? Thanks in advance!

Is Bachmann switching their Sound On Board supplier from Soundtraxx to TCS WOWSound? I've noticed that they started using WOWSound in a couple new products such as the ACS-64 and now the just announced streamlined PRR K-4.

HO / Baldwin Modern 4-4-0 4 pin male plug
September 14, 2016, 03:09:30 PM
Hi All,

I need an HO universal orange 4 pin male plug w/ wires that goes from the tender to the loco on the Baldwin Modern 4-4-0. I looked on the parts website a couple weeks ago and the had the orange universal 2 and 4 pin plugs but they were both out of stock. I looked again today and they have 2, 4, and 8 pin male plugs BUT they're white and not the same and won't fit in the female socket on the 4-4-0. Does anybody have an orange 4 pin male plug with wires in their spare parts bin that they could send to me or do you know where else I can find one? I've searched all over the internet with no luck. I just got off the phone with the parts department and they were no help at all. Thanks.

I'm lookin for speaker clips for a Baldwin Modern 4-4-0 & a Baldwin 4-6-0 52" low boiler DCC/Sound ready tender frame. <http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_68_210&products_id=8715>. I looked in the part catalog and was only able to find clips for the  4-8-2 Heavy Mountain (sold out) and the J Class 4-8-4. Will the J class speaker clips <http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_68_89&products_id=4266> work with the 4-4-0/4-6-0 tender frame? I tried the Soundtraxx recommended 28mm speaker for it since I can use a speaker gasket but it's too big. I found some 25mm speakers that will work but I can't find 25mm round speaker gaskets and I'd like something, other than or in conjunction with silicone, to help hold the speaker in place. Thank you.

HO / Spectrum 4-6-0 DCC/Sound Ready Tender
June 14, 2016, 02:29:48 PM
Will this, <http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_68_210&products_id=8715>, fit the tender shell with the #82301 4-6-0? If not, which DCC/Sound Ready tender chassis with PCB and speaker grill (no speaker) will? Thanks.

HO / Doodlebug wheelset question
June 14, 2016, 10:11:11 AM
I have a doodlebug that had bad gears on the drive truck so I replaced them with NWSL geared wheelers. Upon testing the doodlebug I came across a short. I found the insulated wheels were opposing each other. My question is which side does the insulated wheel go on...the right rail or the left rail like the rear truck? Thanks on advance.

HO / DC GP38-2 motor isolated from frame?
March 11, 2016, 12:40:16 PM
I have a DC (Non DCC On Board) Bachmann HO G38-2 in the blue box with the clear window. I'm working on installing DCC/Sound and I was wondering if the motor is isolated from the frame or not? I looked at the reference sheet on the Bachmann website (http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/dwg/dwgs/H617X_IS001.pdf) and it looks like it is but I looked at the tcs website installation pics for the Bachmann GP-35 (http://www.tcsdcc.com/Customer_Content/Installation_Pictures/HO_Scale/Bachmann/GP35/GP35.html) and it looks like the same setup as the GP38-2 but explains how to isolate the motor from the frame. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

On30 / 4-6-0 "noise supression"
March 14, 2015, 07:20:50 PM
I have a 4-6-0 and I would ike to plug in a sound decoder using the existing pc board to utilize the on board resitors and eliminate the hardwiring process. Could anyone tell me if there is any "noise suppression" equipment on the board and where it is and how to remove it? Please PM me with pictures of what components to remove. Thank you.

On30 / New 2-6-0's DCC/Sound ready?
March 12, 2010, 02:32:16 PM
I have heard that in the new Bachmann catalog the On30 2-6-0's are listed as having a plug for DCC. What about a "cutout" in the tender for a speaker? Bach-man, can you confirm or debunk any of this and fill us in on any other details? Thanks.

On30 / 4-4-0 wires and plug help
July 25, 2009, 11:20:18 AM
Mr. Bach Man,
I need a wiring harness with the orange 4 pin plug and red, orange, yellow, and brown wires for my inside frame 4-4-0. I think it is the same as also used on the 2-8-0 and probably most of the HO steam locos. Can I get just the plug with wires or must I get a circuit board with the wires and plugs already attached and are there any available? What type of plug is used and where can I purchase one if I can not get it from Bachmann? Thanks.

On30 / The long lost EBT 2-6-2 #11
November 18, 2008, 12:05:02 AM
Hello Mr. Bach-man,

I have a request to be considered, I have had the EBT's 2-6-2 #11 on my mind alot lately and I would really like to see it produced in On30. I'd like to see it not only as an EBT fan but, personally, I think it is a neat little engine and I think it could be a big hit in the On30 world and I think it would look great on any On30 railroad.  What does everyone else think? Maybe with enough interest we can get one of these.

On30 / Price increase?
September 01, 2008, 10:37:39 PM
Mr. Bach-Man,

Has there been a price increase recently? If so, when did this occur? I ask because I just saw MSRP's jumping on items last time I checked. For instance the IF 4-4-0 from $310 to $330, sound locos from $435 to $460, Davenports from $110 to $115, DC locos from $275 to $290, and increases on most all other On30 items. I do not see this in the Bachmann online catalog though. What's the story? Thank you.

On30 / Forney/DCC sound question
July 21, 2008, 11:18:06 PM
Mr. Bach-man or anyone else out there,
I have A Forney with DCC and sound. I've been running it on dc and it works fine and then I was running it on dcc and it works fine. What I want to know is now that it's been run on DCC can I go back to running it on dc right away (just plop it on the track and go like before) or is there something special I must do first? I'm new to dcc, I only know about systems and decoders available but not much on the technical end of things. Thanks in advance.

On30 / On30 27998 Ptd/Unltd black hopper?
March 28, 2008, 10:29:19 PM
Hi all,
Not sure if anyone knows this, possibly mr. bach-man, but what color plastic are the painted unlettered black hoppers molded in? I am assuming they have a coat (or more) of paint on them because they do not look like just straight plastic. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
