Mr. Bachmann
I am very interested in the complete process you used when doing the soldering and painting of your layouts

1. When you painted the track how did you clean or cover the rails to keep the paint off the top of the rails

2. The complete process you used when ballasting the track and the mixture of glue and water used

It would be really nice and very helpfull to me and the others  to see
some pictures of the complete process, Maybe you can do a small thing in the photo gallery

Like I said in a prev post I have had some bad luck doing the flex track
but rally like the look of your finished product after you completed your layouts

I am going to try to insert a couple photos of my very early stages of my layout

Took about 8 trys but I think I have the pictures in

The second level will be a reveresd dog bone with the center being on bridges and the outsides being the tunnels for the first level

If anyone has any advise on the layout please advise

Thanks in advance

HO / Bachmann Ez Track
December 03, 2007, 11:24:12 AM
I was wondering if any of you fellow train buffs have any extra Ho Ez track with gray road bed they would like to sell fairly cheap, I am disabled and on a fixed income so I really cant afford to purchase it from the hobby shop, I started my layout with flex track then decided to change to the Bachmann Ez Track because of the problems I was having with the flex track, My eye sight is very poor and couldn't solder the connections right, If anyone is willing to part with any please let me know at  fargo2007@msn.com  I am in need of about 75 PCs mostly 22 inch radius and straights  but any amount would be a great start

I just watched someone get trashed in one of the other forums because maybe his spelling and use of capital letters wasn't perfect. I will be the first to admit I am not perfect and dont try to be, But we all come to these forums for the same reason (The Love Of Trains) and for help from the others with the same love as us, I really dont think this poor fellow came here to have a Kindergarden Hook On Phonics Ad thrown back at him
I am new to this forum also and this is the kind of action that drives people away, I am sure that I will get attacted for speaking for up in his defence, we are all adults and should act like it.

General Discussion / Mr. Bachmann

I have noticed in the photo gallery that when you make a layout useing ez track that you have painted the track and then used ballast over it, can you explain how and what materials you are useing to accomplish this look
I like the finished look and would like to use it in my layout
After starting with flex track and laying down about 60 feet of track I can see the flex track is going to be a problem for me so I am going to tear it all off and start over using ez track I feel its going to be more reliable in the long run, alot of my layout is going to be in tunnels so I need something dependable and I am just not getting it with the flex track any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated
As always

HO / Track Problem
October 24, 2007, 11:45:17 AM
I am finally laying down my track and have run into a small problem, The track is code 100 nickle silver flex track being installed over 1 inche foam and cork roadbed
My problem is on the curves where the ends meet the track does'nt want to stay at a smooth curve The last 1/2 inch of each track wants to bend away from the curve slightly, this seams to happen where I remove the last tie so i can put on the rail joiner, I must be doing something wrong because I can for see derailment issues ahead at every place the tracks meet
Does anyone know of a video or can maybe explain how to correct this problem

Thank You in Advance

General Discussion / DCC Steam w/Sound
October 22, 2007, 04:45:25 PM
 Mr. Bachmann
I have decided to purchase a Spectrum DCC with sound on board Steam Engine this week.
My question is the smallest radius on my layout is 18 inches or 36inch circle and I want one of the larger engines (not a Shay or or Baldwin)
which engine will have the easiest time with this radius out of the ones in the Spectrum Line,

As Always Thank You in advace

HO / Spacing Question
October 18, 2007, 11:22:51 AM
I am building my first ho layout and have a couple of guestions regarding the spacing between tracks,

1.  My layout consist of a doulble mainline running side by side and need to  know a comfortable space between the tracks for the curve sections of the layout for passing engines and rolling stock dont hit each other  (Iam using code 100 flex track)

2. Second I would like to know the inside height of the Tunnels I will be buiding,( will be made out of 2 inch stacked foam) I see woodland Scenics sells Risers that end at 4 inches

As always Thank You in advance You Guys in the forum have been a great help
