HO / Ground throws
November 09, 2017, 04:19:03 PM
Hi all.
I'm building an HO layout and every ground throw I have seen or researched for this layout is much too large for scale.
Does anyone have an idea for smaller throws. They do not have to be working as I plan on throwing all switches by hand not using a machine. In turn the throws I want can be much smaller then HO.
They will only be cosmetic.
Thank you.

HO / switch stands
September 16, 2016, 11:37:34 AM
Good morning.
I remember reading somewhere that HO switch stands are too large to be scale prototype.
If this is true, would one be better off using N scale stands on an HO setup?
Thanks.

HO / Doodlebugs
August 20, 2016, 04:07:11 PM
Good afternoon.
I have two Doodlebugs (new in the boxes) and there are two very small silver items in a plastic envelope.
They look like they are possibly steps but I can't figure out what they really are and where they go on the piece.
Any suggestions will be greatly helpful.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Awsome scenery
June 11, 2016, 11:11:51 AM
Good morning, all.
Maybe many of you know of this site but it was new for me.
If you model a quarry, mine operation or any mountainous layout and are interested in extremely easy scenery go to this link and see what is offered.

All you need for fabulous scenery is a scissors and glue.
Take care.

HO / Bachmann HO turntable with DCC
April 05, 2016, 12:30:55 PM
Hello all.
I have read that the Bachmann turntable is easy to install using any track system. Just what is involved with this process? I am using the Peco trackage.
Thank you.

HO / Oil burners
February 13, 2016, 05:30:42 PM
Hello.
I'm looking for a steam loco. The only specification is that it must be an oil burner such as an 2-6-0, 4-4-0 or 4-4-2.
Hopefully, it can come with DDD and sound. Any advice?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Dynamic wireless system
March 10, 2015, 02:49:26 PM
Good afternoon all.
I am very interested in beginning to use the EX Command Dynamis Wireless system on my HO layout (to be built in the near future).
Where can I find all info such as limitations on infrared systems, controllers to use, if a receiver is needed for the signals, etc.
Thanks in advance. ErnieK

General Discussion / part changes
December 14, 2014, 03:37:52 PM
Hello all.
Does Bachman or anyone else made a cover for the coal bin on Shays to make an oil burner from a coal engine?
Also, is there a normal funnel to replace the spark arrestor on Shays?
Thank you.

HO / bachman shay locos
December 12, 2014, 03:08:56 PM
Hi all.
I am just getting back into model railroading after a 30 plus year absence.
Lots of new stuff for me to learn. First question is: Does Bachman still manufacture and sell Shay locomotives? If so, are any oil burners and which ones?
Thank you.
