Large / Question about Bachmanns 2-6-0 mogul.
September 20, 2010, 09:40:37 PM
I am interested in getting a 81XXX series Mogul, but I have never seen one in person. My biggest worry is that I am trying to stay with 1:20.3.  I know the engine will be small, but in the pictures, it look more like is a standard gauge engine, which would make it 1:22, not narrow gauge. I would think that if it is a 1:20.3 it would have more over hang over the wheels. Does this make sense?

Large / Mogul size
April 03, 2010, 02:22:25 PM
I was wondering about the size of Bachmann's 1:20.3 mogul, the 816xx series How does it compare up against, say a heisler, or the the new forney. Is it smaller, larger, same size? Is it narrow gauge, or a standard gauge engine, which should make it small compared to the other 1:20.3 equipment.

Thanks,
Bruce

Large / 2-6-6-2, anything I should know?
October 24, 2009, 10:31:19 AM
Hi. I just ordered a Bachmann 2-6-6-2, and a long caboose.

I have read about screws needing to be tightened on the 2-6-6-2, and that the marker lights on the caboose may need to be rotated to the right position, but is there anything else I should look for before I run it?

I see a picture of the new Forney on Bachmanns new product update. Looks like a outside framed one will make it to my house.

On30 / Bachmann's new underframes
May 16, 2009, 09:56:35 PM
I have some beer reefers I need to lower, but I also need to raise the coupler height to match my other ON30 equipment. Does anyone know if the new lowered frames will allow me to correct both issues?

On30 / Size difference of the 4-4-0's?
February 02, 2009, 10:21:34 PM
A thread a couple of months back was about the difference in the sizes of the 4-4-0's. It would appear that the later run was larger than the first, but no one said how to tell them apart. How do I know the difference without seeing them in person? Is there a prefix or product number that will tell me which is which?

On30 / Brazillian outside frame 4-4-0
July 10, 2008, 11:36:42 PM
I saw a picture of this engine on the large scale side of the forum. It is different than the U.S.A. offerings. How would I get more information about this engine, and the price of this. I wonder if I can get one.

Large / Climax info
May 15, 2008, 11:56:18 PM
Being new to large scale, I don't have any info on the Bachmann Climax. None of the catalogs I have list them. Did Bachmann make an unlettered version? Any one know the product number, or info on these engines, or where I can get the info?

I can get a paint and lettered version, as they seen to pop up on e-bay, but I perferr an unlettered one.

Thanks.

General Discussion / New shay
April 21, 2008, 09:58:30 PM
I received a 3-truck shay today [FN3] and I would just like to say, very nice. It was delivered to my work place, and even the people that think I'm crazy for wasting my money on trains, thought it was really cool.

Large / K27 tender options
March 15, 2008, 09:03:37 AM
I am getting ready to buy a K27, but I am wondering about the tenders. Looking at the catalog, I see the back-up light in various locations. One style has it on the back on the tender mounted on top, another has the light on a stand [very cool], but some pictures don't show a light at all. Is it in the back side wall of the tender, or does it not have a light?

Large / consolidation cab removale
December 22, 2007, 03:00:50 PM
Hi- I have an unlettered consolidation and I would like to paint red trim on the cab. I thought it would be easier to do with the cab off. Has any one removed the cab before? Is it easy to do, or should I just mask it and do it on the engine. Thanks. Bruce

Large / Fn3
November 28, 2007, 10:24:11 PM
What is Fn3? I thought it was the size that 20.3 narrow gauge would be if it as on standard gauge track for that size. but now I'm not sure. Bruce
