Hi Mr. B,

Will you be at the Syracuse Train Show at the fairgrounds next weekend? A group of us will be coming over from Vermont.

Hi Mr. B,

Missed you at the ECLSTS this weekend, but I was told that you deserved some time off. Brought home some more 1;20.3 rolling stock to customize, including a Murphy-roof boxcar. After adding a metal (aluminum/styrene) roof to two of the original boxcars, I decided that buying the new version was the way to go!.

Here I am again asking that the Spectrum 1:20 trucks be made available, especially the Vulcans as used on the two-bay hopper.

Good morning Mr. B,

Good to see you again at Syracuse last Saturday. The number for the matte finish non-yellowing Krylon clear coat that I use is: 1311.

After the modified 1:20  frameless tanker is finished, the next project will be substituting "steel" underframes for the trussrods under two of the boxcars, using Evergreen structural shapes. Gotta stay busy during the coming  long Vermont winter.

Hi Mr. B,
Any chance the new Murphy roof as used on the 1:20.3 boxcars will be available for retrofitting to first production run cars?

Hi Mr B,

I enjoyed the chance to spend some time with you at the show this weekend, and thanks for including my detailed flat in your display. Your line of 1:20.3 cars are a great start for kitbashing.

I enjoyed this show more than many others, and there were some great prices, including on your cars. I really did not need another hopper! Now I have another car to work over.

Large / ECLSTS this weekend

Hi Mr. B,

Will you be at the ECLSTS at York this Fri/Sat?

The Belden Falls Shay will be pulling a train of modified Bachmann 1:20.3 cars over on the live steaming tracks. I can't just leave them alone, the way they come out of the box, and another side-dump gon just joined the fleet.

Hope to get the chance to say hello again,

Larry

Large / 1:20 crane?

Mr. B, any chance of posting some photos of the 1:20 crane apparently on display in that photo of you at a recent show?

Hi Mr. B, it was good talking with you again at the York show. I have got to stop buying your 1.20 stuff--running out of track space at home.

Anyway, could you suggest a paint match for that brown, unlettered, 1.20 side-dump gon that I just had to buy. (Plus two more hoppers).

Large / 1:20 tank cars
January 05, 2008, 10:40:49 AM
Hi Mr B,

OK, now that the furor over the K delivery has quieted down, can you give us any idea when to expect the new 1:20 narrow- and frameless tank cars?

Large / 1:20.3 tank cars
September 13, 2007, 11:44:59 AM
Mr. B,

I just went back into the photo gallery to check something about the new 1:20.3 tank cars and noticed that the frameless one does not have ladders and step planks at the dome. The narrow frame version does. Are these just missing in  the pre-production photos, and will they be included on production frameless versions?

Large / New 1.20 trucks
February 03, 2007, 10:15:53 AM
Any chance the trucks of the new 1.20 freight cars can be available separately? With a small drop of lube, using the flip-up journal box lids, they roll great.

Not being able to leave anything alone out of the box, I have converted a pair of the arch bars to inside-hung brakes, for use under the hopper. the Vulcan trucks from the hopper are going under one of the boxcars that will have the truss rods removed and be equipped with a "steel" underframe made from styrene structural shapes. Swapping trucks requires reaming/bushing the bolster holes, which is easy enough. I probably will move the brakes inboard on all the archbars to update the era of the cars.

Thanks for all the effort with the new site. Having to login will be worth it to (hopefully) keep the trash out.
