HO / 45 ton loco
November 30, 2018, 10:13:33 PM
does anyone own Bachmann's 45 ton loco. I purchased one and when I put it on the track it does run nice except for this click sound that comes from it as it runs. I thought maybe it was the side rods hitting the track but everything looks clear. I thought maybe it is a defective unit. have thought about sending it in for repair.  anyone have any answers. maybe the bach man can look into it.  thanks

March 29, 2018, 01:44:28 AM
this question is for anyone who has this engine or the Bachmann guy.  I purchased this loco a couple weeks ago. I lubed it and while test running it , I keep hearing a clicking sound like those moving side bars or the counter balance they are connected too. could they be hitting the track or ????   has anyone else had to this problem. if so what was your cure.

Bachmann man, how long is the warranty on new engines??

November 28, 2017, 03:10:11 AM
I don't know if anyone else has this problem. but when I get a new engine from Bachmann its wheels come black or blackened. i try to remove this but it does come off because when i try to operate the engine it seems to operate jerky or needs nudging to get it to move. anyone have any ideas to get this compound off of the wheels so as to get a better electrical connection. and yes i have cleaned my tracks with bright boy and alcohol.

I just purchased a Bachmann also s-2  CP dcc ready loco. the problem I am having is how to remove the shell so I can put in a decoder. the manuals/paperwork included with it DO NOT explain or tell a person how to remove the shell. can someone tell me if 1. there are some screws that need to be removed first. or 2. is it some clips that have to be pressed.

i just purchased a Bachmann spectrum 4-6-2 k4 pacific penn #3750 post war w/modern pilot. the tender came with a two wire connector and a 4 connector. The two wire connector wires are broken off. There is wires, one is black , the other is brown. Does anyone know the wiring specs. ?  Is the brown wire closest to the 4 wire connector or is the black one closest. The blowup shows the wires but not the colors.

General Discussion / bachmann ge 44 ton loco
February 17, 2017, 09:45:27 PM
I just purchased two sets of wheels for my ge 44 ton. it turns out they are, what is called third generation. they look like the stock wheels that used to come with the engine but these have a bronze color square block of metal on each side of the gear on the axle.

my question is: do these blocks locate next to the gear or close to the flange?
thanks

I am wondering if Bachmann is planning on bringing the On30 0-4-2 porter switcher out in HO scale. its a cute engine that would make a great addition to my layout.
