General Discussion / Condition of NIB locomotive
January 29, 2018, 10:19:52 PM
An odd question-- what's the likely running condition of an HO dcc/sound locomotive, new in box and never removed from box, that's about 12 years old?

HO / Regular turnouts on DCC layout.
January 23, 2017, 12:41:04 PM
Sorry if this has been covered before. With HO NS EZ Track, are regular EZ Track turnouts(example a #5 right-hand) going to work all right on a DCC layout rather than buying the equivalent DCC turnout? They will not be run through the controller(MRC Prodigy Advanced)-- the provided push-button switches will just be mounted on the edges of the benchwork. Thanks!

HO / Dismantling EZ track
June 20, 2016, 02:34:57 PM
Ok here's what's most likely a question with an obvious answer but I'm not seeing it. 72 x 96 loop layout with a couple turnouts. I used EZ track with double side carpet tape adhering it to board and ballast glued in place. Would like to add a turnout. How do you take up a section of the track? The plastic tabs holding individual sections of track together would seem to preclude a simple pulling up one or two sections of track as it's connected continuously in the loop.

General Discussion / EZ command system shut down
April 16, 2016, 07:12:53 PM
Hi all-- New to modelling but have been using EZ command controller DCC for several months no problem. Put a new loco(DCC  sound) on track per instructions  to program to new address-- took off full speed, none of the controls would stop it, including stop button. Put it on my other layout  and plugged in controller on it(I only have the one controller but two layouts. same thing-- around the track once. Took loco off again by hand.  Now controller does not function, no lights or anything. Unplugged it  for two minutes per instructions, plugged back in-- nothing on either layout. Loco  was purchased as DCC ready, hobby shop which does these all the time installed MRC Diesel Onboard Module. They are closed for the weekend so can't ask them.  Is there a reset procedure other than un plugging it?And why did it respond this way?  BTW I plugged in my DC controller and the new loco has engine running sound only, my other locos run the way their sound is preprogrammed to when on DC. Thanks!

General Discussion / EZ track noise
March 21, 2016, 09:45:53 PM
Anyone have any simple ideas for deadening EZ Track noise, even just slightly, before I fix the track to plywood? It will be ballasted as well which will make it even noisier.

E-Z App / EZ App with command control?
March 06, 2016, 07:37:26 PM
Will the new EZ App locos(e.g., MD GP35 Canadian National #4000 with E-Z App -- HO Scale Model Train Diesel Locomotive -- #68805) function in a regular dcc sound mode as well, i.e., can they simply be run with the EZ Command System or must they be run by the app? Thanks.
