N / N Scale Locomotive Production Years
January 02, 2019, 05:49:32 PM
So I am looking at buying some locomotives and the production date is around 2003 DCC when they were first released. They are new in box. My question is does it matter when the production was run, say initial 2003, and they rerun for more stock 2007 or something for example. Will the decoder still be the original one? Although it's 2019 is it a problem?

N / Bachmann Also S4 or NW-2 Switcher?
December 31, 2018, 02:24:02 AM
These are on sale at a great price. I think I am going with the Southern Pacific as the A.T.S.F. I want is out of stock during the sale. I was originally going to get the NW-2 No Lettering Yellow one but I like the stripes on the Alco S4 better and the locomotive better. Looked at spookshow's site and he gives them both personal Grade A's. And they also have my F7-A unit on sale too. Another added question, they have the F7-B units on sale at a great price but they won't have headlight right as they are B unit's. But they an A unit shell should fit them right? Maybe I don't care about the light :) Well, I do, but heck for the price, which is great.

Decision's, decision's. Let me know as soon as you can. Guessing sale ends after New Year, but have no idea! Might end while I am typing this :)

Thanks!

Unless I missed something along time ago, looks like they finally updated their website for the NEW century? Am I correct? It sure looks updated! I am a little confused with the new look, finding parts and all, but thank you, finally :)

N / F7 DCC A Unit - No Power
June 21, 2018, 08:39:42 PM
So it appears I have no power to one of my A Unit's. And I am not sure but it seem's like it happened going over a switch. Can it reset the programming number some how? I tried the default 3 and the previous number that had worked for over a year. Also tried just the light with that F10 combination thing I have done a million times and nothing. It's looking bad and makes me sad :(

Is there a way to test it with a battery some how? I thought I saw some one mention one time using a 9 V but could be very wrong.

Thanks for your help! And possibly darn the bad luck!

BTW, I hooked the DC Tech II unit back up after this happen ( didn't want to ruin my last F7 ), put them in the F7 DCC cases hoping they just needed a nap, and that when I get them back out and hook backup the Bachmann EZ Control System, everything will work again :) I think it is called Voodoo :)

N / Bachmann EZ DCC Command System
January 08, 2017, 12:05:19 AM
First off I am only running 2 locomotives on my layout and no switches, lights, or any power accessories of any kind through the Bachmann EZ DCC Command System. They are Bachmann F7 locomotives only, 2 of them. How many can I run on this DCC system. I am wanting to order 2 more Bachmann F7 locomotives. Would it power all 4 at one time? I have two 2 x 4 modules creating an L shape for my layout.

And you can't program the power output on the Bachmann EZ DCC Command System right?  By that I mean program the throttle for use by young humans. So if they crank it up it won't go to actual FULL power and the locomotives go flying :)

Thanks!

I don't want to over power the EZ DCC Command System, and cause it to stop working or to cause my locomotives to burn up. Either one of them the locomotives or the DCC system.

N / Bachmann F7 DCC Discontinued?
October 09, 2016, 04:23:17 PM
Is the 2013 I think it is, Bachmann N Scale Train F7 A Diesel Locomotive DCC Equipped locomotive being discontinued? Reason I ask is that I would like to buy a few more in the near future, sometime between now and Christmas.

Just wondering?

Thanks!

N / Consist 2 F7 Bachmann locomotives
August 28, 2016, 03:54:02 PM
I have only done this once and I am scared that it will somehow break the engines if I do it again, since they are not running the same speed, or does putting them in consist mode change them to run at the same speed roughly?

Thanks!

N / Bachmann 2013 F7 A/B Unit no power on A unit
March 08, 2016, 11:13:39 PM
Purchased these for a great price, received them and running with the Bachmann E-Z Command Control System, everything working fine for the first couple hours, until I try to change the decoder code from default 3 to another number 1. Now only the lights work, button F10 to turn the lights on and F1 for regular or dim the headlight on the locomotive. No power at all, nothing, nada, won't move. Position 1 would turn the light off and on and dim, but no power what so ever. So after reading around here, reset to number 3, and still only the lights work, no power.

On my model railroad forum they say to do a factory reset for a certain CV #8, (new stuff to me), and state that the E-Z DCC Command System, will not let you set to factory default. What could have happened. Can trying to change a decoder number position stop the locomotive from receiving power to it?

Any hep appreciated,
