HO / A dream come true!
July 07, 2021, 10:37:54 PM
Hey guys I'm an HO modeler and I have wanted a Dash 8-40CW forever. Now we are getting them in HO. They will be equipped with DCC and Sound. Is anyone else going to purchase these? Does anyone know how many cars these locomotives can pull? Does anyone know the history of how these were built? Comment below with some info thank you.

Hey guys I noticed a thread on here referring to Bachmann making Diesel 10. Well a request and if it is possible I was thinking. If I remade the entire Directors cut of the Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie with model sets and all how cool would it be if I made Diesel and Paxton Diesel 10's sidekicks? Seeing as how I don't see Bachmann making Splatter and Dodge. The plot would be that Diesel stays loyal to his boss Diesel 10 but at first Paxton is skeptical right from the start. Then as the story goes on, Paxton redeems himself by abandoning Diesel 10. Diesel would be defeated in the smelters yard by James while Diesel 10 would be defeated by falling off the viaduct. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea for a Bachmann only Thomas production? Let me know if you think I should follow through with this if Bachmann ever 0lans to make Diesel 10.

HO / Dash 8/ Dash 9
August 12, 2020, 01:43:46 PM
Anyone here wish Bachmann would make the Dash 8 or Dash 9? They made a Dash 840-CW in N scale. I'd like to see these be made in HO scale. What are your thoughts on this? Please let me know thanx

HO / Dash 8-40CW
February 15, 2020, 03:39:35 AM
Hey does anyone here collect the Dash 8-40CW or Dash 9? I know Bachmann has made them in N scale with DCC and economi sound. Was wondering if these would ever be released in HO with the CSX, BNSF, or Norfolk Southern paint schemes. If there a demand for those? Let me know what you guys think. Thanx

HO / Electric train sets
January 21, 2020, 06:38:10 PM
So I was looking through an old catalogue from like 10 years ago. Anyone remember the Rail King, Diesel Digital Commander, Steam Digital commander, Thunderbolt and Rail Spike sets? I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas if Bachmann would either rerelease these sets or could you buy the cars separately along with the locomotive? Let me know below what you guys think. I think I have some ideas for some cool sets if you all are interested.

Thomas & Friends / Limited Edition Models
April 14, 2019, 05:27:53 PM
Hey guys I made this thread for those who enjoy the classic Thomas episodes where Thomas and his friends get into sticky situations. Below is a list of Limited edition models for the HO scale range I created. I decided that these limited edition models would be very cost effective and easier to produce rather than introducing new characters. Not that I don't want new characters it's just that times are hard right now for Bachmann because of tooling costs to make new molds. So I decided to create a thread that would totally change things up with limited edition models that commemorate classic episodes of the TV series.

Thomas Comes to breakfast- Sad face Thomas with a bush painted on his smokebox, leaves painted on his boiler and dust and dirt around his tanks with some weathering. Also egg yolks on his cheeks to add more humor.

James Goes Buzz Buzz- surprised face red nosed James with bees painted on his boiler. This was mentioned in the Thomas in 2020 thread.

Henry in Something in the Air- Sad face Henry with Fish painted on his boiler and tender and water blotches on his boiler and tender.

Now this is just a start. If you guys think this is a good idea please drop your ideas below I hope I don't get made fun of for this.

Thomas & Friends / Thomas in Williams O scale
November 21, 2017, 11:58:35 PM
Hey guys I've been thinking a lot about this lately. Lionel has discontinued several Thomas products in O scale and this got me thinking. Bachmann does a great job with Thomas products and Lionel hasn't really put the best Thomas products out there. What if Bachmann bought the rights to sell Thomas in O scale? The engines would look much better plus we would get much more characters in the range. I think Williams by Bachmann should make Thomas in O scale. Plus unlike large scale bigger engines like Gordon and Henry would have a better chance at being made. What do you guys think?

Thomas & Friends / 2017 releases
August 19, 2017, 02:08:04 AM
Since James' redesign is coming out unannounced and the Spiteful Brakevan in Large Scale is just the old brakevan with a face does anyone know when they're coming out? Hope we can figure this out soon

Thomas & Friends / Thomas and Friends in DCC Sound
August 17, 2017, 09:29:25 PM
I know we've already started a 2018 thread but I've decided to start something different. Here's a subject that we will only focus on Thomas if the engines were to be upgraded to DCC and sound in HO scale much like the large scale range. Here's what I came up with.

For engines I've decided these two would be great for a start because they're popular and Bachmann would sell these very well I sure hope the Bach Man is listening to these ideas. These are HO scale by the way.

Thomas the Tank Engine with DCC sound and moving eyes
Percy the small engine with DCC sound moving eyes

Yes it's Thomas and Percy with DCC sound. With a little extra cost I'd say a speaker would need to be supplied as well as a sound decoder. Plus if you have a DCC controller you can program up to ten digital addresses on Bachmann's easy command controller. For example you'd want to program Thomas to digital address number 1 and Percy to digital address number 6. Sound features would include chuff, short and long whistle, idling, steam exhaust upon stopping and cylinder blow down. All in 16 bit polyphonic sound.

Also available should be a DCC sound decoder and speaker. By changing DCC parameters. You can provide sound to Thomas, Percy, James, Edward, Henry, Gordon, Emily, Spencer, Toby, Duck, Oliver, Rosie, Donald and Douglas, and Bill and Ben.(side note: Donald and Douglas and Bill and Ben use the same sound package.) This would be the steam sound package included with the decoder. Soldering the wires onto the decoder would need to be required.

Well guys this is my idea for the next big thing in Thomas. Please leave a comment on what you all think constructive criticism is welcome if you guys think there should be some improvement. This page is only talking about DCC Thomas products only so if you want to talk Large scale that's fine too. These are just ideas for HO scale for now.

Thomas & Friends / HO favorites
August 08, 2017, 12:05:34 AM
Hey guys this post is for those who have favorites in the HO range. This is strictly for HO scale Thomas engines and rolling stock. Let's hear what you all have to say.

My personal favorites and why:

Thomas- he's the number one engine and has a great build to him. Bachmann has done a good job on Thomas and I personally believe it's one of the best out there.

Oliver- yes it took two years for Oliver to be made but it was totally worth it. Oliver can pull a lot of cars and looks great with his brakevan Toad. Oliver looks good alongside any engine. The detail is nice and crisp and his wheels look superb!

Rosie- I love tank engines and Rosie doesn't even need rolling stock to look good. She runs smoothly and quietly along the track and she just looks and runs great!

Diesel- we all need a few shunters and Diesel makes the perfect addition to your collection. The one thing that got Diesel on this list is his silver side rods. I am so glad Bachmann went with the classic look despite having a CGI face. Minus the face, Diesel looks as how he did in seasons 2-3.

Well this is all I have for right now. More will be added soon when Paxton and the 2018 announcements get released within the next few years
