HO / LED lighting
April 05, 2021, 01:02:20 PM
I was given this site by a friend, i am looking at my layout and thinking about placing an order. The LED strips are 3 led lamps in a 2" segment, there are also single bulbs and some flashing ones that go red green. I guess all i can do is buy some and try them, see how bright they will be? What are you guys using for lights on the layout?

I want to buy some actual molded working light fixtures for street lamps and outside wall lamps on buildings. Who has the best selection of those?

The flashing ones. These require a 550 ohm resister to drop voltage from 12vdc to 2.5 vdc.

HO / HO scale lighting
February 28, 2021, 05:40:58 PM
So i was driving by the local refinery last night, and it looked really sharp all lit up. I would like to incorporate small lights in my refinery as i build it, may be easier to adapt them in place before it is all assembled?

I also want to add lights to the inside of all my buildings, that will be easy i have made provisions, added a second floor divider in my houses etc.

Where can i find specialty small lights for the refinery?  What has everyone been using in general for lighting.  I am not really looking for a plug and play system, i want something i can build and solder. I have 6 toggle switches and a large dc power supply already in place on my panel board.

HO / Rest in Peace WoundedBear

I am sad to announce that my best friend, and model railroad mentor Sid Deitch, AKA Wounded Bear,Left the earth this morning after a battle with a long term illness. I miss him dearly, and am struggling with his passing.  He was a master model builder, his work was second to none. We spent hours on the phone, and i made an 8 hour trip last summer to spend  few days with him. His friendship and kindness meant the world to me, friends like him only come around once in a lifetime.

God bless you Sid, i hope your pain is gone.

Sheldon.
