HO / Old rolling stock coupler
August 10, 2023, 04:43:24 PM
I picked up an older HO Bachmann coal car recently, and it's coupler doesn't match my recent Bachmann set. It has the coupler as part of the truck assy, whereas my current stock has a separate coupler attachment, not connected to the truck assy. Is it possible to modify the old stock to work?

HO / First Railroad Track Pack Model: 44596
June 20, 2023, 09:31:39 PM
I was wondering if anyone has come up with other layouts for this track pack than what's shown on the box? I've tried using the SCARM program, but haven't come up with any alternates.

thanks!

HO / EZ Track Pack Model: 44596
April 11, 2023, 10:13:46 PM
I purchased the Bachmann EZ Track Pack 45 piece Model: 44596, after unpacking it, I've found the instructions are sparse at best. There are red and gray wires with connectors, and switches for the turnouts, but no directions on how to wire the turnouts. I'm assuming the turnouts are manual and not DCC capable. I haven't been very impressed with Bachmann literature so far, having purchased the Thunder Chief set initially.

Any help or links to online support articles would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to set my new Bachman loco to use a different ID than 3.
I've followed the directions, several times, but it won't change from ID 3 for me.

thanks

General Discussion / New to HO - track question
March 30, 2023, 12:26:00 PM
Hello all, new to the hobby, just got the Bachmann Thunder Chief set. My question is when I add more track, is it better to use the EZ track sets/pieces, or use the flextrack, or even a different brand of HO track to create a layout?

Thanks!

General Discussion / New to model railroading
February 27, 2023, 09:23:58 PM
Hi All,

Looking to start with a HO set feature sound and DCC control, but I have a few questions.
What Bachmann HO starter sets feature sound/DCC locomotives? It's not easily determined. I see some sets say DCC enabled, but no sound. Does that mean I can add sound to the locomotive? Also, is DCC an industry standard? Would I need a DCC controller, and do any starter sets come with that? Appreciate any input. There is a lot of questions to start and I realize it is a long process, but I don't want to buy uneducated.

Thanks!
