On30 / On30 Annual for 2012
March 06, 2012, 10:40:08 PM

Hey Guys,

I just purchased my copy of On30 Annual 2012. The Theme this year is Layouts, a banner across the front says "10 Great Layout Features". Now to find time to read the darn thing.
If you have read your copy - please comment on your favorite article or the annual itself.
If you need to find a copy try your local hobby shop (LHS) or :

   http://carstensbookstore.com/ne20onan.html

Bachmann should be proud of their full page add on the back cover of each and every years On30 Annual.
I really like how they are reaching out to everybody, with this years add. Great job Bachmann.

Enjoy,
   Barry

General Discussion / Time?
March 09, 2009, 03:47:23 AM
  Hey B-Mann,
I was wondering if anyone noticed the time on this sight is off by more than 20 Minutes?
I thought I would wait until the other time change to mention it, but I am pretty sure that would be automatically set to change.

Just trying to keep our sight in top working order,
          Barry

P.S. Go ahead & delete this if you wish when set.

General Discussion / ? about F.A.Q.
May 21, 2008, 11:13:57 PM

The Bachmann "Administrator" posted a Scale vs. Guage explanation.
I was wondering if the ommision of "S" scale was an over sight, or on purpose.
I do realise Bachmann does not make S scale products, but for
a public service - educational post, I think this should be included.

S = 1:64

When getting back into this hobby about 5-6 yrs. ago, I debated on
what scale to get into. I chose On30 over a close behind S scale. I do love the Bachmann Spectrum Line of On30 products. Keep up the good work, &
please, always try to respect all model railroaders.

     Thanks,
           Barry

On30 / Observation cars with drumheads?
January 15, 2008, 11:16:44 AM

     Hey All,
Does anyone remember when Bachmann had Drumheads on the Observation cars? Did this Drumhead light-up? Or was it just decorative/ ornamental?
From Ebay, I recall seeing only 2 road names, B&O Blue Royal, and Great Northern.  Were there any others?
Maybe someone with an old catalog can take a quick look.

Just too curious. Thanks for any response,

                     Barry

General Discussion / Broken tender pin
December 19, 2007, 09:53:58 AM

     Hey All,
I have a On30 mogul running around my christmas tree this year. Now just the engine, as I have broken off the link pin on the Tender.
Does anyone have a good fix for this? As I don't think model glue or others would hold up to the strain of pulling a few cars around.
I'm sure others have done this , if you would please let me kwow how you handled it.

        Thanks,
                Barry

On30 / On30 layout survey
April 27, 2007, 03:31:23 AM

I'm just trying to give the "thirty" board a little boost.  I am also interested in what others are doing in this hobby.

1. What is your On30 display? Mining, or logging operations, Christmas village, Mfg. ops., or a circle around Christmas tree?

2 What do you have for Buildings on your layout? Scratch built, Plasticville,
Dept. 56?

3. What era does your layout represent? Civil war, turn of century, modern,
or let us know the exact date.

4. What size and type is your layout? Shelf type , table top, walk around, 4x8, ping pong table, Etc...

Just try to have fun and let others enjoy your efforts also.

General Discussion / Weekend Survey #1 Train shows
April 27, 2007, 02:50:25 AM

I'm just trying to invoke some discussion on train related surveys.

1. Do you attend any train shows, trade shows, or swap meets, as some people call them?

2. If yes, how many average per year?

3. Which ones, & where are your favorites?  the Bach-man should like to know these also.

4. What do you, or would you like to see at these shows?  That's my favorite ?

Remember, no right,or wrong answers. Just varied opinions.
That's what makes our world go 'round, and this hobby so fun to play in.

            Enjoy,

General Discussion / Keeping track of trains
February 26, 2007, 01:02:32 AM

I was wondering how others keep track of, or Inventoy your trains, rolling stock, structures, etc., AND do you have them insured?

Please give your ideas or opinions on this.

On30 / Dept. 56 Trolley
February 19, 2007, 12:36:02 AM

I'm hoping to get some information on the On30 Department 56 trolley set, "retired" around 1994. Bachmann made this for D-56.
Did this trolley switch directions on it's own? Looks like it has a built into bumper type switch.
Also is the EZ track (white road bed) the same as the auto reversing track? There is no trolley barn but is it steel or N/S?

Any info. would be greatly appreciated
   Thanks in advance

General Discussion / Tracks Ahead on PBS
February 07, 2007, 12:52:46 AM

How many folks have seen or watch this show?
Have any of our forum regulars been on the show?

This past weekend I came across two different gentlemen who have been on the show, at two different events. Neither was bragging, I had to bring up the fact that I recognised them from their segment on the show.
I saw this as a sign to post it on our new board.

General Discussion / New EZ Track book
February 06, 2007, 01:03:15 AM

I just heard through, the breezes, a new EZ Track book is to be delivered this spring. Let's see, March 21st is the first day of spring.
I'll expect mine on March 22nd, (just kidding).
I hope it meets my long awaited expectations.
