One of 2 glaring omissions from the On30 Sandy River & Rangely Lakes rolling stock list is the short caboose like the #557, the other is a reasonable likeness of a 26-28 foot boxcar. If the SR&RL decals from the pupwood car were used on the plain flat cars, gondoals, and the current boxcar body it would be a start. Do I dare pray for the smaller forney as well....yup! Even bigger fantasy, the 2-6-2 prairie with seperate tender!

Whada ya say, Mr Bach-man? Time to revisit the possibilities with the decision makers upstairs?

On30 / Forney Valve Gear
May 06, 2007, 09:01:38 AM
For some reason I could not reply to a post regarding the forney, so here is a quick finale...

The comment was made  " i had bought the 0n30 2-8-0 that was loosely based on the engine on display at the old edaville rr. now my reasoning was here is another engine based loosely on the forney at edaville (no  i assumed that the same detail would be applied to the Bachman 0n30 forney. I obviously was wrong to expect the same attention to detail as the 2-8-0 that was offered as another generic model ) "

Well, the forney was not based on the locomotives at Edaville. The only thing they have in common is the type of locomotive. The B&SR forneys that were at Edaville are similar in proportion and valve gear to the #10 of the Sandy River. They are much larger, heavier, longer than the models that Bachmann produced. So your reasoning is flawed and the comment is unfair to Bachmann.

Dear Bach-Mann,

This hasn't come up in a while, but it is still a need. What did you find out in regards to the purchase of new lower frames for the freight cars? I have not purchased any cars in a long time waiting for this answer, because if I cannot obtain parts I will not buy the older type. Maybe it sounds picky, but in a way it is your company's fault. If you didn't make such beautiful models and strive to improve our hobby so much....heheheheheh. :)

Seriously, I would really like a final answer on the subject from official sources. I just cleaned out a hobby shop of their low profile trucks and want to find mates for them....

Large / EBT steel boxcars
April 21, 2007, 06:13:02 AM
I want to see this model in 1:20.3 to go along with the hoppers. Mr. Bach-man, what is the possibility of this? Anyone else love the looks of these boxcars as much as I do?

Does the glass in the roof windows on the big hauler passenger cars come in a clear version? I would like to have mine be transparent and not colored...

Thanks

On30 / Numbers that match the SR&RL forney lettering?????
February 27, 2007, 09:39:44 PM
Dear Bachmann,

I like the lettering on my SR&RL forneys a lot, but what about numbers to match for the folks like me who didn't opt for sound? I need numbers that look like they match the color of the lettering, and preferrably not the huge size as seen on the sound ones. According to my research and photos, the lettering on the current models is about the right size. If you also go by the prototype, the forneys that are represented by your models had numbers that were approx 1/3 to 1/2 times larger than the letters on the tender. The sound equipped loco numbers look to be 3 times larger....

With respects,

Vince

On30 / New On30 announcement questions
February 12, 2007, 09:34:32 PM
Dogfish Head 90 Min. IPA           Is this a typo, Mr. B?

The round roof caboose is the same or a new body style as the OR&W?

Will the Bumble Bee 2-6-0 be DCC or stay the same?

Finally, any word on the new frames for freight cars?

Vince

( I tried PM, but it didn't appear to work... )

I have a few busted ladders and details that i want to fix on some freight cars, and I also found my 2-8-0 has the uncouple lever mounts broken. What are the chances of a parts supply happening in the future, Bachmann?
