Large / C-19 video
June 12, 2014, 07:15:41 PM
Not really new--but trying again re C-19 intro--had a computer whiz over so thought I would try and download it.  I was able to play it--but wanted to burn a copy to go with my other loco dvds.   Those all have important set-up and maintenance info--is anything similar available for the C-19? can I get a copy of what is on here??  Also--- I tried to sign in and my
old e-mail is blocking access--
Thanks--GJ

Large / Missing in action??
March 10, 2014, 03:12:52 AM
What ever happened to the Spectrum D&S NG fire car that was announced a year or more ago?  I had one ordered --W&I Trains--  or did something happen to W&I Trains?  Phones in new Garden Railways seem to be disconnected.

So---bottom, line is--Where can I get one of these cars?

My last conversation with W&I seemed to have the cars in Philly--

Thanks--

Large / C-19 couiplers
November 08, 2012, 09:00:20 PM
Bachmann's instruction manual for the C-19 is not very clear as to thich screws to remove to allow installation of Kadee couiplers.
On the engine under the pilot there is a rectangular cover plate held with two fairly large screws.  Remove them, take out the Bachmann coupler. Unscrew the small screw in the middle of the shank, reemove the Bachmann coupler and install a Kadee #916 coupler on the Bachmann shank.

On the tender, in the middle of the end sill, from the bottom, remove the large screw at the center of the plate, then the two small screws.  Change the coupler as above and put it all back together.  I found it handy to take out the tender truck screw and move the trusk forward to gain a bit  more room.

I have sent this to Sam Clarke at Kadee.

Large / C-19 arrival
October 29, 2012, 07:47:46 PM
My C-19 arrived today, and I have just finished unpacking it.
All my previous Spectrum locos have included a DVD with history andf instructions for set-up and lubrication.  I don't find one here.  Is it missing or no longer supplied?

Thanks.

Large / Prototype for Bachman loco
July 28, 2012, 04:37:41 PM
What was the prototype for the large-scale  3-truck  modeled by Bachman? I see several lettering schemes in the catalog, but I know that at least the West Side was wrong  (#4 was a Heisler)--for that matter, how about the prototypes for other Bachmann logging locos? I thinkk I recall finding a simila rloco to the original Pardee & Curtin 2-truck Shay on the Pino Grande  (Michigan-California Lumber Co )
Thanks for the help--Glenn Joesten

Williams by Bachmann / SP Cab Forward
June 04, 2012, 03:24:01 AM
This reaches back to the days before Bachmann acquired Williams, but perhaps someone has somme info.

I recently purchjased Williams #8002 O Scale model of an SP AC-12 Cab Forward.  It is labeled "Crown Edition" and is made for 2-rail.  (It was also made for 3-rail as by coincidence there was one of those up on eBay at the same time.

Does anyone know then these models were produced?  The seller says the 2-rail loco has been re-motored--knowing O Scalers as I do, were these originally underpowered (necessitating a new motor?)  I have not track tested it yet--but it is a good "layout-grade" model
Thanks for whatever info you have.

Large / Oregon Lumber Company
July 02, 2011, 08:24:00 PM
I also posted this on the general discussion board--
Many of Bachmann's logging locomotives come lettered "Oregon Lumber Company".  Is this an actual company, or just a name that sounded appropriate?  I have someonme looking for a book on it if there is such.
Thanks

General Discussion / Oregon Lumber Co.

Many of Bachmann's  "Logging type" locomotives--geared lokies, mallets, etc--come lettered for the "Oregon Lumber Co."--was this an actual company, or just a name that Bachmann  thought up as sounding good?

Large / Idea for Forneys
December 27, 2010, 08:53:21 PM
I just finished reading the book "From Plantation to Theme Park" about the rebuilfing of a Baldwin Forney loco to the Disneyland RR #5 loco, "Ward Kimball".  This loco looks quite similar to the inside-frame Forneys Bachmann makes in Fn3 andOn30.  Has there been anyu thought of getting with Disney Co and producing Fn3 and On30  versopns?  Besides sales thru the usual channels they could be the ultimate Disneyland souvenir.

Does anyone know of an oil bunker conversion for the Climax loco?  I understand that the Climax is being re-issued--will there be "alternate fuel " parts available then?

Thanks--gj

Large / New announcements
September 12, 2010, 05:36:34 PM
Since the Large-Scale Climax is being re-issued--and with  an oil fuel bunker--how about having the oil bunker available thru the parts dept for those of us who have wanted our older Climaxes to be oil burners?  gj

Large / product suggestion
January 16, 2010, 08:39:22 PM
Just came from a question about Shays--realized that Bachmann has made  at least six "logging" locomotives  (three Shays, a climax, a Heisler, and the 2-6-6-2T.    They have some log cars--but no really suitable logging caboose.  How about considering one such as the Swayne / West Side "long caboose?
