I have a new Williams/Bachmann GP9 and have noticed that the lights are very dim.    There are two light bulbs on the internal platform, however, they seem ineffective.  I made reflectors out of aluminum foil and placed them behind the bulbs with no improvement.   Is there a way to enhance these lights?   sariN

Williams by Bachmann / More on Williams GP9

With reference to my previous problem with the whistle.    Based on a posting by pinzero I found the potentiometer conveniently facing outboard on the starboard side.    Made a few adjustments and everything, including the bell, is working well.    SariN

I recently purchased a Williams/Bachmann o gauge GP9 locomotive and am  running it with a Lionel 80 watt transformer.   At  first the whistle can hardly be heard, however,   after about 10 - 15 minutes and pushing the button , at intervals, several times it becomes louder and seems about correct    After a few more minutes it becomes very loud .    Let it sit for a few hours and it starts all over again with a low sound.    The tracks  were purchased last March and are the new Lionel fast track.     I have a steam type locomotive on which the whistle works just fine.    What, if anything , can be done?
