On30 / OK...I'm Stupid
October 04, 2008, 06:40:22 PM
HELP ME!!  A buddy of mine just sent two parts to me for DCC installation.  He removed these from a "Gas Mechanical" and I want to put them in my Climax.  Now, here is the dilemma:  My Climax MAY be "DCC" ready as I see an 8 pin plug on top of the board.  Do I simply plug in Bachmann Part No. 44915?  What is the other board for...It has two brass strips that appear to go to the motor...do I need this board???

Thank you Bachmann folks!!  I needed a new rear truck for my Climax and you guys got it to me fast and at a price no one could complain about.  You are the best!

On30 / Great a New Engine! What about older ones?
September 22, 2008, 12:00:33 AM
I am happy to see that Bachmann continues to forge ahead with great new products and I am sure the new 4-6-0 will be a great hit.  Once again I find myself asking: "What about the older engines?  When will Bachmann go back and add DCC if not DCC and Sound to the 2-6-0s?"  and while we are at it a few DCC loaded Porters would be great...save alot of time and frustration out here in model railroad land...

On30 / 4-4-0 Derailing?
June 26, 2008, 11:09:52 AM
Hi all,

My first attempt to post this appears to have failed, so here I go again.  I have been running the heck out of my 4-4-0 and it is great except for a particular problem.  When reversing over the frogs of a turnout the pilot truck always derails, no matter what speed the engine is at.  It does not do this moving forward, nor does this occur with my other engines.  I suspect the piloit truck is floating light on the rail.  What can be done to fix this problem?
Thanks,
John

On30 / Adding Sound to the 4-4-0?
June 21, 2008, 03:37:45 PM
So, I have not looked inside my 4-4-0 yet so maybe this question is self evident BUT I am wondering if the decoder that comes factory installed is a plug-n-play type where I could just "plug in" a sound decoder say from Tsunami??  If so, how hard is it to do?
Thanks,
John

BTW...love the way she looks AND runs!!

On30 / HELP!!
June 18, 2008, 09:52:18 AM
So my DCC system is great, love running the trains etc.  HOWEVER, I am having a problem with several of the lighted Bachmann cars.  When placed on the track they wig the system out.  This happens even in the cars I have cut the lights out of.  Is this the fault of all metal wheels/trucks causing a dead short??

On30 / HELP!!
May 25, 2008, 05:48:18 PM
Just received an E-Bay buy of a Climax that someone has added DCC and sound to.  Sounds great but only rolls forward and back for about an inch before the rear drive line binds up causing the rear wheels to stop turning.  I have moved the drive manually and it feels like there is a burr or something causing the thing to bind.  Any help on fixing this problem?
Thanks,
John

On30 / DCC 2-6-0 in the future?
April 14, 2008, 08:37:13 PM
Any chance that there will be a DCC installed or DCC ready 2-6-0 in future?  I have several (and one that someone already converted to DCC) and they just beg for DCC control and sound.  I don't want to do the conversion myself...I will hose it up.  While I am at it...what about DCC in the Porters too?  Sure would save a lot of heartache on this end of things!
