Large / Smoke don't come out of the stack
January 31, 2012, 07:54:11 PM
Hi
on my industrial Mogul the smoke of the smoker is staying inside the smoke box. If I remove the stake, the smoke comes out strong, but I put back the stack in his hole the smoke stays inside the smoke box. What can I do?

Hi
look, what I've done for a sound job for the little Bachmann Davenport.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJjNry70mZM

The sound decoder is a Zimo MX 645r, between the Bachmann pcb and the weight are 4 capacitors with 4.7 mF parallel installed, the sound project I've done myself.

The capacitors gives the safety of a free run without electric pickup for 4 inches in a slow speed. The capacitors are connected to the capacitors gain of the decoder.

The run is on another club members layout

Have fun

Large / Modifying K-27 to a pulsed smoker
November 16, 2010, 10:08:55 AM
Hi

I got a brand new K-27 a Zimo DCC Sound-Decoder MX690V with the genuine K-27 Sound Project and a Pro Line pulsed smoke generator from train-li-usa.com.

Now I'm looking inside the tender and on the wiring diagramm from Bachmann. I have 11 wires between tender and engine. 2 of them I'll not needing. There are the wires for the IR chuff-trigger. There are only 2 chuffs per revolution and the Zimo Sound Decoder has an internal trigger which works perfect.

Has somebody an experience to open the K-27 for picking up the wires for the trigger to use with the pulsed smoker.

I'm thankfull for every good information.

Heinz

PS  I recorded the sound for this Zimo project from the 463 befor the gear was brocken.

Large / Forney Chuff Trigger don't work
February 15, 2010, 09:06:57 PM
Hi Mr Bachmann

I'm on the way to install a Zimo MX 690S DCC sounddecoder. In this decoder the DCC power and the sound is in one only item, and the decoder is detecting the power consumation of the motor to adjust the sound volume. I've connecting J1-5 Chuff Trigger 1 with the switch input 3 of the sounddecoder. This input is producing a chuff every time if the switch input is connecting to ground. so too I've connecting  the J1-7 ground with the decoder ground
But it doesn't work till now.
Does i need to connect the locomtive 1 and ground with the decoders 1 and ground?

Thank you for helping

Large / Listen my sound of the new Forney
January 10, 2010, 01:19:23 PM
    Hi,
I am an enthusiastic model railroader and I am developing sound projects for my own Bachmann engines in museum quality. I don't like a simple adaption of some generic US Sounds. I've working with genuine Forney sound records of the W W & F Ry.

    These are the facts:

    • Prototypelike 4 hard chuffs per revolution,

    • singlechime whistle pitched to 5",

    • small bell,

    • 16 effects of the prototype operating by the remotecontrol
    • 6 random sounds.
    • synchron 5 Volt power output to each chuff for a smoke generator fan

The best of all you can have access to these project too. Listen the sound of your Forney on my website  http://www.sound-design.white-stone.ch/Bachmann%20Forney.htm
    Have fun
    Heinz

PS You can see the genuine on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIxLH_A74mM&feature=related

Large / Need some help - Davenport with DCC?
    June 19, 2009, 08:29:36 PM
    Hi
has anybody put a DCC decoder into the little Davenport?

I cann't find more information as where I have to plug in the 8 pin connector?

Makes the 8 Pin connector possible to controll the light and the smoke unit by a DCC function?

Is the Davenport with a in-plugged 8 pin DCC decoder able to programming and changing CVs?

    Thanks you for every help.

Based on the DCC Sounddecoder MX 690 from Zimo a museum quality sound is available. Ask Axel Tillman from www.train-li-usa.com the distributor of Zimo in USA.

I'm a hobbyist like you and I'm a member of the US G-Scale Friends in Switzerland. I've done a fine soundjob with the genuine sound of the 463,  recorded when she was running on the C&T. I've done this soundjob for another club members. I'm spending you all my job for free. You can download and flash into a MX690 or you can order an MX690 factory flashed with the K-27 sound by train-li-usa.com.

You'll find the powerfull chuff recorded at the location Cresco Tank, three different single chime whistlerecords of the 463, the swingbell, the big airpump, coalshovel, the wining generator, blower, injector. The sounds are playable, what means the whistle sounds just you relaese the button on your command control. Some sounds are doing to shorten by only a very short pushing on the button. The engine has an Auto cylinder blow down, by starting after a little waiting time, but you can operate for special effects by commandcontrol.

The 3 whistlerecords are a short, a long short, and a highway crossing

For the chuffs I'm using 20 different soundfiles. Every one listen and seeing a K-27 equipped with this sound is delighted.

It's a very simple installation. You don't need a cam. All is made with the precision of a Swiss Watch and the internal cam is up to 99% synchron 4 chuffs per revolve.

The DCC sound is also ajustable for operating by DC power and 3 inputs allows to operate 3 effects without DCC operation.

Ask Mr Tillman or ask me.

Behind the Zimo Sounddecoder is the Zimo Largetraindecoder MX69 strong for 5 Amps with peaks to 8 Amps. This decoder is very smooth driving the K-27, like a precious clockwork. You can add a powercapacitor with 22mF and your K-27 will run 3-5 inch without a powerconnecting by track. Forgett all you erver heard about pickup problems till now.

    Have fun

    Heinz

I've another soundjobs for the little Porter, another small engine, for the Bachmann Climax inclouding the idle of the gears tooth and I'm under construction with soundjobs for the Heisler, the Mallet as a Compound. I'm in discussion with the development dep. of Zimo how to do a real assynchron operating simple articulated with 2 x 4 chuffs.

Large / K-27 Zimo sound unit installed
    April 18, 2008, 04:42:36 PM
    Hi Folks
I've done a Soundjob on the Zimo Hardware. This project I've spent for all modell railroaders, which are needing a soundsolution for their K-27. It's a free opensource download from the website www.zimo.at  for using the Zimo Sounddecoder MX690S. You'll finde below software/ZSP/ ZSP/DOWNLOAD aller aktuellen ZIMO Sound Projekte and scroll to the US departement.

I've done a Soundproject for 2 clubmembers using the genuine K-27 Sound from the 463. The chuff is recorded in location at Cisco Tank, the whistle, the bell, airpumpe, dynamo, injector. All these and more effects, are taken from the 463, I've all made with looping areas for realtime playability. Directswitch for "Approaching a Highway crossing" sound. The project is able to flash into the Zimo DCC Sounddecoder MX690S for large scale and into the MX640 for 0n30. Everybody seeing and listening the engine is surprised, about their prototype like Sound

The wiring inside the K-27 tender is a simple job of 15 minutes. The K-27 Sondproject is flashed in 5 minutes into the sounddecoder inside the engine using the zimo computerinterface. If you flash the  "K-27 US G-Scale Norm" all the CVs are preset to run your Bachmann K-27 on your layout.

If you don't like to operate DCC today, but in future maybe you'll change, the MX690 is able to operate with only DC power too. He has 3 inputs for 3 reed switches to controll 3 different soundeffects. Your are able to adjust with the free Zimo Sound Programmer software

If you like more informations ask me, or ask Zimo in Vienna for the US representant. In future you can order the MX690S Sounddecoder inclouding the K-27 Project. Please order Project US G-Scale Norm.
