Mr. Bach Man,
The iHobby expo is coming up in 50 days. Will you be showing anything new?

Thanks.

Cool features, huh? Maybe old releases with DCC and Sound?

On30 / Guess the Release thread

We will have a detailed release the week of the convention for those of you who can't make it.
We will make people in all scales very happy!

OK, Mr. Bach-man made this comment last month. So, assuming that the release will be Friday when the convention starts, let's have a little fun guessing what the release(s) will be for On30. Now, let's try not to make this a *wish* thread so much as a guess thread. I have a lot on my wish list, but doubt most will ever see the light of day.  Here are my guesses:

Engine: 2-6-2 OF steam engine Maine Prototype
Rolling Stock: Box car or Passenger car based on Maine Prototype

I'm sure I'm wrong, but I think that Bachmann has a tendency to lean towards 2 foot prototypes over 3 foot. A 2-6-2 mechanism has lots of reusability to it, including export 2-6-2T prototypes.  We'll know pretty quickly!

This is a rather intimidating site at first to look at, but scroll down to look for the blue 760mm gauge steamer in blue, right under the heading "JUNE 26, 2010 - SLEZSKE ZEMSKE DRAHY TRACK DAY"

On30 / More Outside Frame Narrow Gauge
January 23, 2010, 11:05:07 AM
Here are a Colombian 4-6-0 and Guatemalan 2-8-2 outside frame locomotives. Again, I hope this can inspire Bachmann or you kitbashers out there.

On30 / Big Brazilian Narrow Gauge
January 23, 2010, 11:00:45 AM
I thought that I'd post some of my collection of Brazilian narrow gauge (meter) locomotives. Some of these are pretty large, including their 2-6-6-2 and even a 2-10-4! Can you imagine being a fireman on a wood burning 2-10-4? While not 30", I think that there could be some freelance ideas here.

It's not a fancy site, just the scans posted. Go to the directory here:

Thomas & Friends / Video of the Bach-man
October 17, 2009, 09:57:24 AM
Just thought that I'd share how nice the Bach-man really is. This is my family at the iHobby show last year, and my youngest being held by our esteemed moderator!

Mr Bach-man, I hope you don't mind me sharing. See you next week hopefully!

p.s. Yes, I know I posted this video over on the On30 board as well, but it more suited to this forum.

On30 / iHobby Show
October 18, 2008, 03:49:31 PM
I just got back from the iHobby show.  Lots of great stuff.  I met the Bach Man finally, and he is a great guy who is very enthusiastic for our hobby.  He showed the new models to me, and they even had a TWEETSIE painted 4-6-0 (Sorry, no pictures as I had my 3 little ones with me).  The outside frame 4-4-0 is considerably bigger than the previous 4-4-0.  That and the railcar look pretty good.  I also saw the new underframes.  I can hardly wait to change out my old ones.

I also had the opportunity to try out the new Dynamis DCC system.  I can't tell you how easy it was to work, and with one hand!  Thanks Mr. Bach Man for holding my youngest while I tried out the Dynamis.  I know he appreciated watching Thomas go around your layout.  Very soon here I will have both my On30 and HO Thomas up and running on the same layout.

On30 / Outside Frame 30 Inch 2-6-2T
August 01, 2008, 02:08:26 PM
Hey Mr. Bach Man,
Take a look at the latest issue of Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette (July/August 2008).  There is an article "Along the Narrow Gauge - Thirty-Inch Gauge Railroads - Hawaiian Plantation Lines" that has an excellent picture of a Outside Frame 30 Inch 2-6-2T.  Since this is a prototype 30 inch gauge engine, I think this would be a swell addition to your line of On30.  ;D  What do you think?

Thanks.

General Discussion / Dynamis Product Manual
May 06, 2008, 04:18:00 PM
I haven't taken the DCC plunge yet, and I really like the look of this new system.  I have a couple of questions:

Are there product manuals I can download and read first?

When is the pro box 36-506 going to be available?  I don't mind purchasing the 36-505 and then purchasing the 36-508 upgrade as long as it doesn't add a bunch of wires and cost a bunch more over just waiting for the pro box 36-506.  It would be nice to see pictures of each item, 36-505, 36-506, 36-508 and 36-509.  (I've seen a picture of the wireless handset 36-507 already)

Thanks.
