On30 / replace wood cab
December 07, 2007, 08:12:15 PM
 Hi All
Has anyone replaced a Bachmann steel cab for a wood cab on the Bachman wood cab climax version?
Just had a idea and wondering if I would keep that in the back of my mind for a up grade later.
Thanks, happy railroading and may there be a lot of On30 under the tree this year.

 :D :D :D
Hi
I am looking to fine if you know were I could get the best deal or supplier's here on the East Coast a Hartford kit K-13-S, Ely Thomas log car kit. I know about Caboose Hobbies and have had the fun being in their store many times, when my son was living out there.
I do not have Large scale layout but enjoy what I see from the work that You all do.
You know how fixed income is. So I work in On30, and have finally got my logging line started.
Any help would be greatly appreciated or suggestions.
Happy railroading and may you fine that special train under the tree this year.
   Thanks

Large / Up date on shayman
November 27, 2007, 04:16:49 PM
  Hi All
  I love large scale also!
Now to what going on with me and the doctors appointment today.
Well everything is rolling right along the Lord is taking care of everything you can tell all through this His hand is there.
First of all the cancer that is now in my brain. Does appear to be a new breakout and has not been there long time. It has gone from being three to one massive tumor to two small nodules.
Now for what is going to be done.
I would like to say here that my family and I really want to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts.
I now will not have to face a operation. For now that has been ruled out as need at this point. Great news!
The radiation has been ruled out too! More great news.
Well then what are we going to do. Cyberknife Radiosurgery yes, the nodules are small enough to even be done at the same time they believe. Talked with one of the doctors that will do me and he told me that the procedure as gone on others better than he had ever believe. The computer that controls the operation comes from Germany, and was develop to build cars on their assemble line till some smart person took the idea to control other equipment and computers. I just have to say here we know Who gave man the gift of thought, reason, and ideas.
Any way the rest of the week will be to run test for them to get me ready for the big day. They to have to map out my head for the best path to follow and get the exact location. when that is done the team of doctors will look at a and make sure of the best path to go. I fell like I am on space mission the way this is going down.
If everything goes to plan right now it will take place on Dec. 07, a Friday, and last only 45 mins to one hour and 15 mins depending on how I move and if I have to get up for some reason. the good news is that this smart machine will know and reset check and go back to were it stop and start again at the correct place.
Again I want to thank everyone for the support that I have gotten from the groups.

One more note the work on the On30 logging layout is coming along and hope to have the second section tided in this weekend. When that is done I will post pictures and up date. One section will be removable for a module to go to shows and set up with other groups of modules.
So North Carolina and others stay tuned.
  Thanks To All

November 08, 2007, 09:24:45 PM
  ::) :P :-*
Let's get to it all you loggers out there!
First of all lets thank Bachmann for job well done . I have really enjoyed my On30 equipment, and yes tomorrow. Will start putting in my first section of bench work down one wall, it is of the module design. I am planning to take pictures along the way to keep you all posted. We are changing the name of the RR. from Deep Creek Lumber CO. To the new Deep Creek Company because we found coal on our land holdings which will help out with company revenue. So I will busy lettering the equipment D.C.C., and just how did that come about. Well I love DCC control, enough said.
Now I need some new power from Bachmann are you listen out there.

How about turning on the shrink machine. Thanks for everything. shayman

On30 / Prayers and Thanks
October 16, 2007, 11:09:29 AM
I would like to say thanks to this group for their support and now I have to say this. I have had cancer for eight and haft years. The doctors did not give me six months that was five and haft years ago.
Well now it has shown up in my brain and there if some options that was not there years ago. My new doctor has taken it to a panel of his and said that I had come this far, they were not going to rush into this, it seems that something of miracle to them.
My Lord Jesus has been at my-side the hold time and I can say that when I meet people that they can not believe that I have cancer. The treatments that was tried on me threw the years effects me more until now. I just want you all to know the Lord loves us all. After I get patched up I will let you know. For the victory has been won!
My prayers is for all of you to keep on having fun railroading.
Again my prayers are for you.
Shayman logging up Deep Creek somewhere. Love to all.

On30 / comparison shot of 4-4-0, 2-6-0, 2-8-0 by shayman
September 20, 2007, 11:18:01 AM
 Hi All
I to cannot wait to see the new 4-4-0 engine. Their has been a lot of talk about the size and I have put some pictures together. Some of the pictures I did not take and would like to say to the ones who took them thanks for takening them.

You can see how the lengths run by looking at the pictures and the ruler.
I believe that the 4-4-0 is 2 1/2 inches shorter than the 2-8-0 and around 1 1/4 inches shorter than 2-6-0.
The 2-8-0 is around 13 inches long.

On30 / 4-4-0 question
September 13, 2007, 11:44:40 PM
 Hi Bach-man
Just wanted to ask about the 4-4-0 and that you show in the photo gallery two versions of the steel cab. One with spoked wheels on the pilot truck.

The second with solid wheels on the pilot truck.

Is their anyway to know which way these will be packaged and the item numbers.
I would like to get one ordered with the spoked wheels. Or could this be just pre-production tries.
Happy railroading

On30 / Reefers-C&S
September 08, 2007, 10:59:56 AM
 Hi Bach-man
Love all the reefers that has been done so far, but their is a big hole in the line up.
How about talking to Lee the next time you see him and asking about a C&S reefer. I believe white sides and brown ends and roof.

I like the new 4-4-0's and thinking about two of them.

We still need a updated shay to compete wite the climax.
