HO / DCC ready vs DCC equipped performance
February 02, 2009, 09:35:55 PM
Hi Guys, I need some help.

I've got some Bachmann loco's that came dcc equipped and some that were dcc ready.

The dcc equipped run fine, click up a couple notches from zero and they start to crawl.

The dcc ready with 8 pin Bachmann decoders installed, on the other hand, don't start crawling till about 25 to 30. That on the 0 to 128 step scale.

Is there any remedy for this other then really pushing the low end of the speed table way up?

TIA,
SvFiat

General Discussion / Acela Parts
January 31, 2009, 11:28:18 AM
Hey Mr Bachmann !!!
Hi, I'm trying to build signal blocks from scratch and I see that the Acela uses some really nice micro led's that are super bright for their size.
How would i go about purchasing those circuit board assemblies?

TIA,SvFiat

General Discussion / Atlas Turn Table
June 25, 2008, 04:16:27 PM
Just thought I'd comment on this, I got real ambitious and bought an atlas turn table and round house model kit got it all put together and running then thought I wonder if I can DCC the table. So I used one of those cheap bachmann 1 amp decoders to control the table and it works just fine. :)

General Discussion / Couplers
June 25, 2008, 04:09:21 PM
I'd like to body mount the gear boxes to my passenger cars.

Is the a formula or rule of thumb for the position of the center of gear box pivot vs. the end of the car vs. the distance of the center of the truck to the end of the car vs. the radius of the track it's going to run on?

TIA

HO / Over Heating
June 11, 2008, 01:14:46 PM
About a month ago I started to get back into model trains. I purchased the dcc set with the ez command control and 2 dcc engines. Everything ran fine after the usual fine tuning. I then purchased the Dynamis controller. Now one of the engines runs at about half speed and gets very hot.

With the ez command in the system the track voltage ran between 18-19 volts AC and with the Dynamis in the sytem it's 14-15 volts AC. What is the correct operating voltage for these dcc units?

TIA.

HO / E-Z Command Dynamis DCC Controller
May 30, 2008, 03:02:45 PM
Hi, I've seen very little mention on this device and even less information on it.
According to the sales pitch this is what it should be able to do:

E-Z Command Dynamis DCC Controller

Features

    * Advanced wireless infrared operation
    * 2.5 amp power supply
    * 128 speed steps
    * Full CV programming
    * Full NMRA conformance
    * 9,999 locomotive addresses
    * Turnout and accessory control
    * Expandable modular design
    * Easy-to-use backlit LCD screen
    * Allows 40 consists of up to 5 locomotives each
    * Control of up to 40 locomotives at any one time (up to 21 functions per       locomotive)
    * Suitable for all layouts from train sets to sophisticated railway systems
    * Joystick control for speed and on screen selection

     I already own a Easy command controller and several dcc engines and I'd like to go to the next step of being able to control the cv's of each dcc decoder. From what I've read in other forums the Dynamis doesn't have the cv prgramming ability it claims to have. I've been looking for days for a pdf file of the manual that comes with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx,SvFiat
