I have a Bachmann FT-A with DCC onboard that suddenly will only run in reverse. In forward it does nothing, like it's not getting a signal. Could the decoder have gone bad? If not the decoder, then what?

HO / DCC FT-A Only runs in reverse

I have a Bachmann DCC FT-A that suddenly will only run in reverse. I tried to reset the decoder but it still only runs in reverse. What could be the problem?
Also, how do I open it, in case I need to change the decoder?

HO / Need help with shell removal

Can anyone explain how to take the shell off a HO Bachmann SD-45 with DCC? I want to lube the loco but can’t figure how to get the shell off. Has anyone added sound to one?
