It's still not the 2-6-2 I was hoping for, but it's a pretty cool locomotive.

On30 / 2-6-6-2 Problem
December 15, 2009, 04:22:07 PM
Hello all,

When I came home from school today (or collage as you may call it) I found my Bachmann On30 2-6-6-2 with sound today as expected. Christmas had come early!

I took it out of the box, connected the tender to the loco, and started running it on my layout. It was exactly what I expected of a Bachmann On30 product.

I started changing the CVs to make it run how I wanted. I was very pleased with it.
Then I disconnected the tender, and looked at some of the tender load and stack options, seeing which ones I wanted for my loco.

Once again I connected the tender, put it on my track, to find it moved slightly and then gave up.  :(

I have checked the loco-tender plugs and sockets; Factory reset the sound decoder, and even hooked it up to my 2-8-0 to find there is definitely nothing wrong with the decoder.

When under power, the Mallets motor makes a quiet noise like its trying to move, and nothing more. The front headlight works on the loco. Everything is in working order except the motion.

I know its asking alot, but can anyone help me?  :-\

On30 / Lettering Advice.
January 12, 2009, 02:23:52 PM
Evening all,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a rather simple method of lettering my unlettered On30 engines.

The name of my model railroad is rather long so im not too keen on adding each letter by letter. Unless I have it as just the initials when I am planning to do on my smaller engines.

Any advice?

On30 / Easy DCC Question
January 12, 2008, 09:54:23 AM
I have just been doing some decoder moving and i was wondering what Decoder comes with the 2-8-0?

I have just taken the decoder out of my 2-8-0 and put it in my shay, this is because i would like to fit my 2-8-0 with sound. I would like to buy another of the same decoder for my Climax.

Wile on the subject of DCC, anyone know the best sound decoder and speaker for the Bachmann 2-8-0?

From your website i gatherd you have a Broadway On30 C-16. I am getting one of these in the post and im rather exsited. Any basic information you could give me about it? Like what adress is the decoder set to, how does it run Etc.

Also information about the C-16 from other members will be welcome.

HO / My model railway
March 08, 2007, 12:08:14 PM
I have got round to do some modeling today, so here are some pics of what ive made today and my layout.

My german 0-8-0 tank engine, it was all red when i got it and it runs on a battery

My kit built english tanker, i painted it today.

The german tank gets ready for the afternoon train.

Ive also remade the yard part of my layout to fit a hornby log loader in.(its been in its box for too long!)

J94 saddle tank 'Harry' hooks up to the loaded log train. Do the Tomas fan's know whos peeking out beside the shed?

Most of my railway. (the yard is to the right, under my bed)

Please tell me what you think.
