Large / Yellow Pine Lumber?
July 31, 2013, 11:14:51 AM
There are several Bachmann Loco's marked Yellow Pine Lumber. I've done a little research on the Internet and found very little about a Yellow Pine Lumber Company.

Is there a special reason why Bachmann has focused on the Yellow Pine lumber Company (amongst others)? Is it the West Yellow Pine Lumber Company?

Is there a good website or forum with more information on the Yellow Pine Lumber Company?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Jerry

Large / Bachmann 1:20.3 Rolling Stock?
July 31, 2013, 11:01:20 AM
I am not a purist and as long as something looks good to me I am generally happy. I have a fair amount of Bachmann "stuff" and aside from the Connie I'm not sure & don't much care what scale it is.

The Connie changed all this in that it is simply (in my opinion) too large to run with most of my regular rolling stock.

As I looked through the Bachmann web site I did not find anything that appears to be 1:20.3 other than locos.

Since my Connie is marked "Yellow Pine Lumber" my thought was to perhaps add a few 1:20.3 log cars. I don't anticipate buying much else in 1:20.3 as even the Connie has problems with my R3 curves & turnouts.

The Bachmann log cars I have seen in the past strike me as too small for the Connie.

I have not been paying much attention to the hobby lately so I am probably unaware of Bachmann's recent marketing efforts.

Am I missing something?

The Connie is the only 1:20.3 item on my layout. 1:20.3 is simply too large for my layout but I have the Connie and I like it but I could use it a lot more if I could fit Bachmann or LGB hook & loop couplers to it.

After looking at the tender it looks like a H&L conversion will not be easy.

Please DO NOT advise anything other than H&L. I can live with the tender's knuckle coupler if I have to but most of my rolling stock has H&L's. Kadees ARE NOT an acceptable option.

Also...

I can start another topic if necessary but is their an easy way to improve the Connie's pilot wheels tracking so they will push through wrong way turnouts (i.e. weights)?

Thanks,

Jerry

Large / Revolution in Connie?
July 12, 2013, 09:15:33 AM
Has anyone put a Revolution into a (Yellow Pine Lumber) 2-8-0 Connie?

Would the loco have to be disassembled or could it be done through the tender?

Wiring Diagram?

Large / Yellow Pine Connie Instructions?
July 10, 2013, 05:32:54 PM
I have a 2-8-0 Yellow Pine Lumber loco but I have been unable to find the instructions for it.

I had hoped to find a downloadable set here but have not.

Is it available somewhere?

Thanks,

Jerry

I have a logging train made up of a Bachmann Ely Thomas Porter, freight cars and caboose with Kadee couplers but I want to be able to use a sound car and occasionally a different loco that have hook and loop couplers. I DO NOT want to convert the sound car or the other loco to Kadee couplers.

What is the recommended way to put hook and loop couplers on the 20' Box Cars?

Thanks,
