On30 / Looking for coach roofs
March 30, 2021, 11:33:06 AM
I am looking for some On30 passenger car roof parts. I had some but they are damaged, and I need them for a project I am working. The color of the roof doesn't matter, nor does the color of the clerestory windows. I reached out the Bachmann's Parts Department but they couldn't help me and directed me to ask my question here. Does anybody have a couple of passenger car roofs they would be willing to sell?

Thanks.
Ben

PS: I thought I posted this already this morning but my thread is gone. If this is the wrong place to post it, please let me know. But, the Bach Mann directed me to post here. Thanks.

Large / 45-ton engine truck wiring
February 13, 2018, 04:31:54 PM
I bought one of these engines years ago because it ran really well. I disassembled it and took one of the trucks and built a critter over it (before Bachmann released their Davenport engine). I now have the other truck and I want to use it for something else. But, it won't run because it isn't wired up.

As it came from the factory, there are four brass pads on the top of the truck in a circular pattern that would connect to the circuit board in the engine. I think I need to jumper the pads to get it to run, but I don't remember what pad goes to what and I don't want to screw it up. I didn't locate the schematic on this website, or that might have helped.

Anyone remember how to wire up the truck to run independently?

Thanks.

On30 / On30 Forney molds damaged
February 08, 2018, 11:03:44 AM
Last year I rode on several 2-foot gauge trains in Maine and decided I wanted an On30 Forney to run on my otherwise HO layout. However, in previous years Bachmann Forneys had been easy to find but in the past year I haven't seen many at train shows, at online vendors, etc. This year (2018) at the Springfield Train show, one On30 vendor told me he heard the molds had been damaged which was why Bachmann hadn't released any in a long time.

Anyone else heard that? Is there any news on an upcoming rerelease of the Forney engines?

Thanks.

HO / Bachmann QJ 2-10-2 availability
February 29, 2012, 04:12:52 PM
I am searching for one of these models and not having any luck. Might anyone know whether there are any still languishing in a hobby shop, or elsewhere? Does Bachmann have any plans to rerelease them sometime? Also, what variations did Bachmann produce?

I tried searching the Bachmann China site but as a non-Chinese speaker I couldn't navigate it very well.

Thanks.

N / N Scale D&H Equipment
November 10, 2009, 10:37:44 AM
I am compiling a Collector's Guide/database of all N SCALE engines/cars ever produced in the D&H scheme, or one of their parent companies as long as the letters D&H were stenciled on the side (ex: Guilford). To do this, I am using old Walthers' catalogs, internet search engines, EBay listings, mail order companies, etc.

I have come across Four (4) different Bachmann N scale items produced. They are:

GE U36B - road number ?? - Catalog #64076
EMD GP-40 - road #1001 - catalog #??
Baldwin "sharks" - road numbers ?? - Catalog #7403
Quad Hopper - road number #12312 - catalog #73376

In addition to the missing information (bolded above), I am looking for their release dates. I know the U36B and the hopper were in the 2005 catalogs, but that doesn't tell me when they came out. I have no other information on the GP40. The Sharks were originally ER-Models units that were purchased by Bachmann when ER-Models went bankrupt.

Can anyone with old Bachmann catalogs help me out? Doesn't anyone know of any other N scale D&H Bachmann trains produced? Thanks!

Large / Mining Locomotive 2-6-0

I saw this advertised for a couple of years, and it got pretty good reviews. Now, I cannot seem to find them at all... on your website, on other people's sites, or anywhere.

What happened to this engine? Did it just fall off the face of the earth?  ???
