Williams by Bachmann / Loss of steam engines
November 07, 2015, 05:12:23 AM
Bachmann What is happening to your roster of Steam locomotives?
I have watched the decline of these over the last several years with baited breath
it pains me to see that your current production is now down to Two Steam Locomotives the
4-6-0 series and the 4-6-2 that was shown at York.  I am a steam fan and all i own are steam engines
I hope that Bachman considers more steam in their roster soon

Williams by Bachmann / Golden Memories 773 Hudson
February 18, 2012, 05:04:27 PM
Hey 3rd rail any idea why the 773 is missing from the 2012 catalog.  Is this a Mis print or is the 773 Discontinued and not going to be issued again.  Any information would be appreciated.  I was considering investing in one a little later on this year.

Williams by Bachmann / Girls GG1
February 09, 2012, 02:04:49 PM
Was wondering if this Engine is able to power itself from Catenary or does it have to come from track power. In the description it says operating pantographs but is that electrical or just the ability to raise and lower.
Thanks in advance for your help

Williams by Bachmann / Replacement Tender Truck
February 24, 2011, 01:54:00 PM
I am in need of a Replacement Tender Truck for a 2-6-4 Girls Engine Tender.   I have been Trying to replace this since before Christmas When My wife accidentally knocked the Tender off of the coffee table and the Bearing strip broke and dropped out.  Every time i have called and checked on this I am told that it is out of stock.

My question is is there any other 6 wheel Truck that can be used to repair this.

Thank you

Williams by Bachmann / Girls Steam
June 09, 2010, 07:08:03 PM
Can anyone tell me if i can purchase just the 2037 Girls Steam Engine and Tender?

I have a 1991 Lionel Girls set that the Engine Crapped out on it needs the Board and the Motor.  I have found the Board from Lionel but they do not list a motor so i am pretty well done unless i can find a motor.

and Besides the Williams looks a whole lot better!
My only wish is that they used an odd Wheel Arrangement on the girls Steam Engine i would like to have seen say a Hudson Arrangement.

Williams by Bachmann / Atlantic Coast Lines

Mr Bachman or 3R

Do you think that there will be any chance of WBB producing a set of Steam Engines in the ACL Paint Scheme to appease us Steam Fans to pull those beautiful Royal Purple Passenger Cars you guys got?????????????????????

Williams by Bachmann / 2-6-4 Girls Steam Engine

What would cause the drive system to seem loose and not run well.  Engine Slips on Track and pulls erratically.
Tried running on regular layout and did same thing.  Tested on k-line Shadow rail/ MTH Real Trax/ Lionel Tube Track
Used K-Line Super Chief 120 Watt Transformer as well as testing it with a 1950's ZW rated at 275 Watts/
Track was cleaned with Rubbing Alcohol and Rag was lightly black kept cleaning till all track was bright and rag came out Clean.
All Wheels on the Engine were done the same way as well as replacing the Traction tire.  Engine was lubed and ran and cleaned.  Track was checked after run and no residue was found.

It does not matter which track i run it on it responds the same.  Manually checking the engine the main drive assembly seems loose but all the wheels are intact and tight on the axles.  There is no binding in the side rods and all the gearing lines up well.

After this i am at a loss.  Not sure why it seems to slip and spin when it is under load

Any help would be appreciated.

What is the proper name of the color that you have done your Atlantic Coast lines Passenger Coaches in as well as your Diesels.
The original Color that the Real Railroad used was known as Royal Purple.  I would love to find this out so that i may do some retouch work on a couple of cars
Thanks

IN K-Lines hey day they did a lot of licensed stuff including  Coca Cola.  However they were not the best when it came to their Locomotives.  I have a couple of sets which are now without motive power. I have one Passenger and Two Freight sets which their anemic 4-6-2 Pacific and their MP-15 Diesel Switcher cant pull the sets.  So I am in need of Replacement Engines.  Does anyone here have an idea or suggestion for new  Motive power for these sets.  I am Considering a Southern Pacific 4-8-4 Daylight for the Passenger Set and a Pair of Norfolk and Western Class 4-8-4 To pull both of the Freight sets.

I hope that someone can help
Thanks

Mr. Bachmann or 3 rail I am in need of some help.
This past Christmas i was dismayed to find that when I took out my Nicle plate Road heavyweight Passenger Cars to find that the wheels were out of the Trucks and the little pieces that held them in place had vanished.  So I was one less set of Trains for my rather large Christmas Display.  I need to know how to fix them or if i have to replace the Trucks.  I have sent several emails to the repair dept but have had no response.  I am not sure if they are getting them or if the problem is on my end.  I do hope that i can get an answer soon as i am working on gettting things repaired for this holiday season
