Mr Bachman, is it possible to install the B'mann 55 ton Shay DCC/ Sound system into
a Bachmann 38 ton 2 truck Shay?

Dear Bach-man:

I'd suggest the next DCC/Sound motive power be the re-release of the Spectrum Heisler.

April 05, 2011, 08:54:42 PM
Is there anyone manufacturing pre-cast loads for theB'mann side dumping ore cars?

Yes, I know I can make my own load, but that's not the question.

If you can give me a heads up, please post it on this list.

Thank you in advance.

Mr. Bachmann:

I think the new coupler lift bar on the 8000 series flat car, and I assume the others as well, is a great idea.

If I wanted to employ Kadee Ga. 1 coupler instead of the present one, can you recommend which Kadee coupler I can use?

Is there any chance the uncoupling lever can be jerry rigged to fit to the Kadee Ga. 1 coupler?

Large / 8000 series Spectrum rolling stock turning radii
February 13, 2011, 03:12:40 PM
Mr. Bachmann:

The new Bachmann 8000 series of rolling stock inFn3 scale caution their minimum turning radius is 8'.

These cars have the body mount Bachmann coupler with the clever trip lever.

If one were to substitue the other coupler that comes with the boxcar, flatcar, what have you, the one that's mounted to the trucks, will this change the turning radius to less than 8 feet?

I have a 3 truck Shay, the West Side edition.

Are the orang livery silk screened?

How can I remove the livery?

What's the previous success been like?

Large / DCC/Sound equipped Climax questons
January 07, 2011, 04:56:43 PM
Hi Mr. Bachmann:

In reading the onsite description of the #86097 & 86098 Climaxes with Tsunami sound, it says I have a choice of 3 smoke stacks, and wither I want coal or fuel oil in the tender.

Does this mean, each Climax comes with 3 smoke stakes and a fuel oil or coal tender cover?

If not, how and when is this choice made?

I'm on the threshold of ordering one, and I'd like to know this before I place the order.

Thanks.

Large / Spectrum Porters have a DVD?
December 17, 2010, 08:20:52 PM
I just acquired a new Spectrum Porter.

My other Spectrum locomotives have come with a DVD of directions, lubrications instructions etc.

Mister Bachmann, do the Porters also come with a DVD. I didn't have one in the box?

Can anyone provide info on the rather rare Sierra Valley boxcars produced by Bachmann.
Their product number?
Who might have some for sale?
Were they 1:20.3 or 1:22.5 or ...?

Thanks.

Large / Bachman Climax versions
April 06, 2010, 12:16:01 AM
Can someone give me a history of the various Bachman G scale Climax locomotives. How to tell them apart, if possible, which need replacement parts right away etc.

I stand to be corrected, but I thought there were two "editions" of the Climax. I'd like to know the difference.

Thanks.
