March 06, 2021, 11:02:11 PM
Giving all my HO stuff to a nephew for his ten year old son. His grand father is helping him  lot a with Bachmann stuff. His grandfather is learning DCC. Sending him four BLI diesels. Bachmann steamers. 44 and 70 ton.
I have a HO LaFever MDC Climax well detailed that I ran at my club some years ago with short log bunks and looking for a few of those to give heim.
Ani deas?
The Kalmbach site uis down again. The Climax runes well at 9 mph with a SoundTraxx Micro, I have given him a lot of stuff so far.
I tried ebay so far. Thanks for any help.
I would take a few disconnected a glue sticks to them.

February 10, 2021, 01:15:16 PM
I hope this stays up. I do not represent the company.
I was just looking at Shapeways.com and they print gears, axles  for different Bachmann older locos.
Two motor 44 ton and second generation 44 ton and 70 ton as an example.
Go look.

General Discussion / Adding photos
December 28, 2020, 09:58:42 PM
The General Questions forum dated on adding photos so I added this link which seems to be up to date on getting a photo link.
Last I knew photo bucket was charging is why I dumped a few years ago. Once bit, twice shy. never again. I have all my photos on a external hard drive. Too old to try any more.

General Discussion / Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum..
November 03, 2020, 11:51:55 PM
A museum I have been to a few times. Not far from my location.
Great area for kayaking below the dam. They open up the gate about noon every day for white water.
The pump car was a blast with a former girlfriend.
The trolley runs on 600 VAC. Does not need anymore power than that.

I was just reading in another forum that Harold Minkwitz passed away March 26th.
Below is a link to his site before it goes away.

He always had great ideas. He will be missed.

General Discussion / Kadee
April 02, 2020, 04:15:58 PM
Please note, this is about model railroading Mr Bach-Man.

Kadee has shut down. No online sales either. I saw a letter from the president of the company. I do not care to post it here.

General Discussion / Hobby shop closing
February 16, 2020, 05:50:00 PM
I remember when he bought the former shop in Northampton, Ma. This fellow was in West Springfield for many years. I shopped there many times but his place kept shrinking. He use to special order for me and others.
The huge Amherst two day train show is not far from his place.

General Discussion / NWSL closing Aug 2019
March 17, 2019, 09:07:04 PM
I have seen this in a couple forums but have no link, only ti other forums. He announce on Facebook I am told.
Not about Bachmann but the model railroad community.

After 60 years in business, NWSL will cease operations effective August 30th, 2019. The company will continue to take orders for in-stock products until July 1st, 2019. Closure is for personal reasons and sale of the business is not anticipated, although reasonable proposals will be considered."

Here's hoping someone will ante up and save the business.

HO / Bachmann Plus drive possible fix
November 23, 2018, 12:49:43 PM
I found this at another forum. I do not believe I ever saw this here.
These parts would replace the splitting axles and gear in all the HO Plus series 4-8-4s.
Check it out at Shapeways site. Looks like four parts and one part has the gear. Looks like $3.50.
One fellow is using the set. 3D printed.
