HO / Using EZ track only?
September 28, 2010, 05:44:04 PM
I am in the process of designing a new layout on a 6'x12' table using ez-track only. It appears that the largest radius sold in bulk is 22"; my question is will 22" work for "most" Spectrum loco's. I am planning on modeling the 1950's to 60's? I really don't want to buy track 5 pieces at a time.

HO / Pictures of my current layout
February 27, 2010, 09:34:09 PM
This is a link to pictures of my current layout; now remember when the kid leaves this summer He takes the couch and I get the whole room. It can hold about a 9 foot by 13 foot 6 inch table. That why I have been looking and asking about bigger layouts and bigger radius curves.    http://pbckt.com/sL.Rq3

HO / Layout & DCC question
February 24, 2010, 10:41:30 PM
OK, I have been running a fairly large layout that has a double loop with no yard space to speak of. I  now think I am ready for a more complicated layout. I have been looking at the Atlas HO 36 the Oregon Pass Lines. With all that said here is my question; have any of you more experienced modelers done this layout or something similar and the book I have only shows wiring for DC. Any DCC suggestions?

HO / radius
February 13, 2010, 08:47:23 PM
I have read alot of posts about min radius; My question is this. When someone says that a 22" min radius will work best for a specific engine or specific length passenger car are they talking about realistic appearances or are they saying the engine or car won't work at all?

HO / ? About flex track
January 01, 2010, 09:04:55 PM
I have several ? about connecting flex track. Do you have to remove one of the ties to get the rail joiners to fit? When curving the track does it matter which side of the track you put on the inside of the radius?

HO / Do I need a reversing module?
December 22, 2009, 08:47:07 PM
I have installed a siding between two tracks running in the opposite direction. I was hoping to use this siding to change the direction of the trains. I ended up with a short; so I isolated the siding supplied separate power leads and still have a short. Do I need to install a reversing module and if I do; do I have to install a booster in line with the reversing module? Oh ya I am running Bachmann E-Z Comand DCC.

October 24, 2009, 08:26:01 PM
Everyone knows by now that I am new at modeling; so here goes. If you are running a FT-A and a FT-B together on the same train and both are powered how do you knon they are running at the same speed? is one pushing or pulling the other?

HO / not so quite EMD GP40
October 14, 2009, 07:58:37 PM
I just opened and set up my new Digital Commander Train Set to get the feel for how the digital control works. i know that the loc's with this set are not the high end DCC equipment that i want to eventually run; but i thought this would be an easy and cheap way to get started with digital control. the FTA runs smooth and quite at very low speeds and high speeds. the EDM GP40 has a grinding electrical surging sound at low speeds/seems to run fine at higher speeds but still not as quite as the FTA. any ideas or input.
