Tonight when I went to look at some subjects in this message board and the HO message board, I saw a pop up log in request in only the  "Alco 4-6-0 anyone" thread. I ignored the message and it went away. Much of the time I do not log in if I have nothing to say.

Any ideas on this one?

HO / Spectrum connectors
March 30, 2007, 08:59:47 PM
Anyone know a source for  the two and four pin connectors used on the Richmond Spectrum 4-4-0?
No doubt they are used on other Spectrum steam engine models. I like the size. I have looked in Mouser and Digi-Key catalogs but I cannot pin it down. It would be nice to get the connectors with maybe a few inches of wire already installed.
Bachmann will not sell any of the parts and I doubt customer service would know of the source.
Thanks.

General Discussion / Right of way tracking
February 25, 2007, 01:36:14 PM
My youngest step daughter who has a masters in Civil Engineering has gone back to work part time. She works at a small startup firm that reduces data taken by a low flying helicopter over railroad right of way. The 'Copter slowly flies at about 150 feet above the ground. The data is from GPS, photos, LIDAR and probably a couple other sensors.
I was amazed at the data reduction she does. She has two 21 inch LCD panels in front of her. Some kind of CAD software. It is something to see the different layers she makes up from the data. Railhead height, roadbed, structures, control boxes, under passes, over passes, culverts, power lines,  probably stray sticks, you name it. I think she is doing some data reduction for BNSF and CSX.
Here is a link a railroad that has done this.

I was not aware anything like this was going on but you can see the reasons in the article.

Dear All,
Here are the First Quarter HO announcements. Please see my caveats in other posts!

Dear Mr. Bach-man

I could not find the caveats in other post. Do you have any more information concerning the above engine. Finding early rail stuff is difficult. Thanks.
