General Discussion / TheGreat Circus Train
January 09, 2013, 08:59:07 PM
Hey all;
I have the Great Circus Train from when it origonaly was released (many many years ago) but I never got any of the accessory wagons or anything from it.  For Christmas, I got a box of 37 of them someone was selling on Ebay. Now I want more.  Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list of what was produced, so I can go about picking them off?

Thanx

HO / F40 DCC Ready Boards
April 17, 2012, 11:00:24 PM
I have an F40 Chasis from a DCC ready unit that did NOT have the flashing strobe lights. I'm looking at the board, and there are places to put resistors and two more lights. Is there a way to adapt these for ditch lights that can alternate at crossings? Or should I consider replacing the board with a different decoder? I have an old life like shell for MBTA that I want to put on it, and light it all up. Any advice, or even a wiring schematic, would be helpful.

Thank You!

General Discussion / MBTA Commuter trains
March 16, 2011, 11:30:55 PM
I spend most of my travel into Boston on the Downeaster into North Station.  Last summer, we actually took a trip on Amtrak's lakeshore limited from Boston's South Station to Chicago. I noticed coming out of South station there were several double level commuter cars for the MBTA.  I am planning on decorating a set of Bachmann Silver Double Decker commuter cars in the MBTA colors, but I am having trouble locating any photo's showing the head end power of these trains.

Can someone please tell me, which locomotives does the MBTA use to pull their double decker commuter cars from South station?

Thank You

Does anybody know who may sell HO scale AMtrak Decals in the so-called Phase 5?  I am looking for both locomotive decor, and logo's for passsenger equipment.

HO / New Acela Locomotives
November 18, 2009, 07:03:01 PM
I saw an advertisement in Historic Rail for a new set of Acela locomotives with DCC on board.  Do these control the directional lighting of both units? My issue with the ones I have is the dummy units lights are on all the time, and the DCC just controls the power unit.  Any thoughts around this?

HO / Collectibles today and DCC
September 13, 2008, 03:53:06 PM
Does anybody know if the DCC FT units will accomodate the F7 bodies from the Collectible today trains?  I want to make my RED SOX train DCC as well as power the B unit to see if can actually pull the entire train, and if the bodies fit, this seems to be the easiest way to do it.

HO / CLass J Drivers
June 12, 2008, 08:02:20 AM
I have just recently aquired a Norfolk and Western Class J (My third one) and when it runs, the left side pistons on the driver wheel unscrews itself, and one of the bars falls out of position, stopping the train.

Is there an easy fix to prevent this from happening, or do I need to return it for service?

I am a little leary of the service, because last year when I had to return one at Christmastime, it was 14 weeks before I got it back.

Thanx

HO / Acela sets
April 20, 2008, 12:29:45 AM
Bachmann;
The Acela set with engine numbers 2036 and 2017  ... is this the latest set out, or is it one of the older sets.

(Just wondering how hard I should chase it on ebay)

Thank You.

Or if anyone has a bussiness class car with road number 3532 they would like to sell or trade, please let me know.

Thanx

HO / Acela Bussiness Cars
April 06, 2008, 05:34:02 PM
I may be way out in left field here, but does anybody know how many different road numbers Bachmann made for the Acela Bussiness Class cars? I am trying to make two complete train sets, but can only find 4 of the bussiness class cars with unique numbers, and I need 6. (3 for each train)

Is there any way to order specific numbers (or even different numbers) from Bachmann?

Thanx

General Discussion / EZ Track availability
July 20, 2007, 09:05:39 AM
Does anybody know if the EZ traxck system is being discontinued?  A Lot of the suppliers are sold out, and some are only doing limited runs this fall. I was just wondering, because I love using the stuff.

HO / Cranes and MOW
July 10, 2007, 12:05:33 PM
Hello all;
I have gotten, pretty much by accident, all the pieces to make an Amtrak Maint Of Way train in bright orange. My difficulty is, the crane and tender are the older Bachmann version that has those pesk truck mounted couplers that I can not seem to find Kadees or EZ mates to work, and the rest of the train has the EZ Mate/Kadees on them.
Does anybody know if the Amtrak crane body and tender house will go on the newer version that Bacmann makes? If so, I'll just buy an undecorated and make the conversion.
Thanx for your time

General Discussion / Piedmont Train
April 11, 2007, 07:56:55 AM
Hello there;
Anybody from North Carolina that can tell me what is in the equipment set for the Piedmont, AKA Amtrak #73, as run by the NC DOT?  I ahve the model of the F59PHI that Athearn put out, and I would like a semi accurate consist to pull behind it when running it on my layout. The people at NC DOT sent me a few pictures, but they were mostly of the engine, and the cars were like a secondary idea.  I was just wondering if anybody knew.
Thank You,
Jonathan

General Discussion / Older cars and couplers
March 13, 2007, 07:58:21 AM
Hello all;
I was just wondering if anybody knows of a Kaydee or knuckle type coupler that will replace the horn hooks from the older Bachmann and Lifelike cars that fit on the trucks, and have the itty bitty hole in them.  Know what I mean? I have a few "specialty" cars that i would like to keep, but I don't want to have them limited to being with each other.
Just wondering

General Discussion / Power Units
February 24, 2007, 09:45:04 PM
I am almost afraid to ask after the Service question went wild, but hwere goes.

Is it possible to buy powered chasis of the Acela engine so I can make both ends of the set powered?

I have two complete equipment sets with loco's, and just for fun, I pyut the two powered ones together, and man !!!  what a performance enhancment!!!  It didn't looses any speed on the grades or stutter thru turns or anything!!!  I just don't want to buy two more engine sets, and then have 4 dummy's sitting around collecting  dust.

Later,

Jonathan

General Discussion / Warranty repair
February 18, 2007, 11:27:05 AM
How long does it usually take the Bachmann Shop to do a waranty repair? I sent my Class J #603 to them, and according to tracking info, they've had it since Jan 29th.  I was just wondering if I should expect it back this year or next?\Thanx
