Thomas & Friends / Knapford expansion question
March 18, 2013, 06:16:09 PM
I was just looking over my knapford station kit and started building, but I noticed the way the holes are in the platforms.  I was wondering for those who have done bigger stations, is it possible to make the station longer or only wider like they show you on the instruction sheet?

I have 2 sets, (2nd one on way) and was hoping to do 3 sections long by 3 wide.  Is that easily done or will the alignment of the posts/holes cause a problem?

Thomas & Friends / 15" Radius turns?
June 23, 2012, 09:24:23 AM
Do any of the locomotives/rolling stock run ok on 15" radius track?  I was just thinking of buying a few packs and trying out the smaller engines like Thomas/Percy/Toby on the tighter turns.  Trying to think of ways to add more track in tight areas.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Thomas & Friends / Finicky engines...
May 11, 2010, 03:18:22 PM
I currently have five engines, all pretty new, not much run time on any of them.  Thomas, Toby and Gordon all worked fine right out of the box, but I have trouble with James and Henry.

James can't go up any sort of incline and Henry seems to rattle/shake alot from side to side.  I've heard some mentions about some engines being finicky when they were new.  So I wasn't sure if I should just try to let them break in and hope they get better, or contact Bachmann for repair/replacement.

HO / Turnout that matches 22" radius?
May 08, 2010, 10:02:28 PM
I know the standard remote turnouts match up with 18" radius curves, but does he #4,#5 or #6 match the 22" curves?  I thought I saw that information someplace but can't seem to find it now.  Also tried searching here and googleing and no luck.

I was just wondering if this was the case?  I have a track setup and I have Thomas, James and Gordon at this point and notice I'm having some trouble with Gordon but not the others.  I did notice that Gordon's train set came with the 22" radius curves, but I wasn't sure if those curves were required or not.  I haven't used that track yet, I've been using nickel silver Bachman EZ Track that I bought seperately.

HO / What is gap track?
May 01, 2010, 04:21:03 PM
Sorry, I'm new to Bachmann's track system.  But what exactly is gap track?  Is there a part number or place to buy it?  I see it mentioned alot in the EZ track guide book, but I don't see a part number or photo or anything.

I know back when I use to use O Gauge trains you had the plastic pins that you would replace the metal ones with to break stop the current.  I'm guessing gap track is something similar, but at my local Hobby Shop they didn't know what it was.  I thought maybee just pull off the joiners since the plastic base seems to keep the track together anyway, but is this correct or do I need to get a special joiner?
