HO / Re: Anyone build the Iowa Central layout?
April 02, 2019, 09:06:21 PM
Thanks to all who replied.  Taking out the 1/3 R 18" made a big difference.  Everything fits on the table now.  I'll have to order the short track assortment and adjust the layout some more but for now things are much better.  Thanks,  George

HO / Anyone build the Iowa Central layout?
April 01, 2019, 06:42:44 PM
Hi,  I have carefully followed the track plan in the book E-Z Model Railroads but am finding it anything but E-Z.  Having issues with track alignment (gaps in the track joints) at the mainline switch on the right.  Anyone else have issues building the track plan?  It also hangs over the edge of the table on the right side which surprised me.  I thought 18"R and the 9" switch would fit fine in the 48" width.  Any replies are appreciated.  George

Hi 671,  I just looked at mine and I see that the wire comes straight back off the pickup roller and goes into the light bulb socket mount hole just to one side or the other.  Are yours routed like that?  Do you have a lot of excess wire hanging that could be pulled up inside the car to reduce slack.  Maybe others have a better idea on this.  Regards,  George

Williams by Bachmann / Re: Coupler Compatiblity

Hi,  I have a Williams FP-45 and a WBB boxcar and tank car and have no issues coupling to other brands of engines or cars.  Coupler height is compatible to everything else I have.  Hope this helps.  George

Williams by Bachmann / How about a 682 style turbine.
February 27, 2011, 10:17:04 AM
Ha Bach-man, Maybe you've been asked this before but I'm new here and was just wondering if you have any plans to produce a 682 style turbine.  Doesn't look like it would take much to modify the 681 to add the linkage and the stripe.  Thanks for listening.  George
