And there is the Zimo system and it has a voltage output control on the 'command station' so it can be lowered even for HO users.  14 to 28 volts can be obtained with this control.

If you use rail clamps instead of joiners, then a small engine will not need feeders as the starter set power packs have 2 amps or less output.  I only use a single feeder inside, outdoors I use 2 sets of wire from my power source to the track and I ru 2 4 motor engines in a lash-up pulling 5 lit passenger cars.  No power issues on a 200 foot figure 8  run after 8 years.

NMRA/G scale switch.

Largescale polarized the track opposite from HO, therefore Bachmann placed a switch for NMRA (same as HO) or largescale so the engine would run in the same direction as all the other largescale vendors.

This can cause confusion when installing DCC decoders as decoders are documented following NMRA (read HO standards) when configuring for DC and DCC operations.

The Aristocraft 75 mhz receiver has a memory setting that needs to be turned on for track power.  If there is a power interruption, the engine will go to its former state when power is once again applied.

So if you remove this engine while it is running and then place it on a track the next day, it will take off and run in the same direction and speed as the previous day when it was removed.

The best manual for programming the 75 mhz receiver is the HOTE manual!!!

Also, place the receiver in the tender to get it far away form the motor noise and if receiving issues, place a black-kat antenna on it.

I leave 10 cars outdoors all year and I have found that they stand up very well.

I live in South Eastern Massachusetts and these sit in direct sun all afternoon.

USA and Aristocraft faded the fastest.

Bachmann small details on an engine disintegrate in 3 years.  Cars and engine  paint do not fade as fast as USA and Aristo.

LGB cars, can not tell they had been left outdoors!!!

I was surprised at the quality of the Bachmann stock and how well they withstood the elements.  I always thought the more expensive stock would fare better, but now I see that this is not always true.

Place the receiver in the tender so as to get it far away from motor noise.

Wrap the antenna around the inside top of the tender, better yet, change it to a shorter black -kat antenna.

I fixed a set of these trolleys for a friend.

I removed the motor blocks and installed a set with sliders.

These trolleys now are awesome runners!!!
