Let's just hope this one doesn't explode into another argument with Churchill. Anyways, as I said before, looks far better than the original Toy Story loco. Out of curiosity though, what face did you use? Looks like Bash or Dash's.

Thomas & Friends / Re: The Bachmann Duck Thread
February 23, 2012, 06:08:17 PM
Alright, new mini topic: Bachmann has posted the official price of Duck, being $85.00. Now, I saw some earlier posts with people mentioning that Bachmann could just add a back coupler can reposition the eye mechanism on the Donald and Douglas chassis to use it for Duck. Do you think this could be possible?

Well, think about it, according to Simon, Duck got a different funnel in Season 12, but all the funnels prior to that season are the same. So, regardless of which ark of seasons from 2-7, Duck will still have his Season 2 model. I'm guessing that Bachmann will go for that.

Guys I don't think we should trust rumors. Simon refused to actually give out a source to the actual info he received. It may be a hoax, it may not be, but we can never know for sure until Toy Fair.

Wouldn't it be nice to get an apology on here.  ::)

I don't do "hoaxes" or "rumours". I deal in facts.

I do find it necessary to apologize here, as I was being very harsh to a trusted source. However, I acted the way I did because I had fallen for this before in the Lego community. A very well known member had posted information about a rumored set for January 2011 back in June 2010, and said it was official. However, once September came along, and the sets were officially announced, the set this guy had mentioned was not listed, unfortunate, because people were looking forward to that set, including myself. I practically stayed out of the war after that, but I did learn a valuable lesson. You can't always trust early announcements, no matter how reliable. However, you proved me wrong, Simon.

HO / A problem with my USRA 0-6-0
February 14, 2012, 08:14:34 PM
Hello. I have a few number of engines made by Bachmann. My FT-A and GP40 work really fine, but my USRA 0-6-0 always reads as "Derailed" on my DCC controller. (Indicated by the flashing lights) I have found out that there is a problem with the copper plate underneath the engine. I had practically the same copper plate on my Prairie 2-6-2, which is built off the same chassis. I tried swapping out the plates, but to no avail. Does anybody have advice? I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not sure if it has been discontinued or not. We shall find out later on. Onto another topic, who has noticed that Hornby has brought back their model of Bear?

I'd like either this face:

That is practically j219's suggested face, except with with white paint filled in the mouth. The modellers often did that when the third season was filmed. other examples would be on Donald and Douglas, Bill and Ben, Terence, and Bertie. Regardless, I still would like to see this face on the Bachmann Duck, if it's released.

It's funny. Even this is just a post where we can give out some ideas about what's to be released in the coming months, it has become a massive bickering match with ClearWtaerMK2. Though, I hate to be rude, but CWM2 is just being an immature nuisance. Can we just get on with bringing out our predictions? We can suggest some things until this weekend when the Toy Fair happens.

My fault. Delete my post, because despite this being a "Never Ending Story", I ended it. So with that, we can continue the story.

That was an amazing episode. Not to mention that the narration almost sounded like that of Wille Rushton's. Keep up the good work!

The reason why bachmann would never make any narrow gauge engines is because:
1.They are smaller than standard gauge engines.
So? What does that matter?
Quote from: ClearwtaerMK2 on February 03, 2012, 04:45:42 PM
2.Bachmann would have to make this entire range for N scale in order to have them share the same size.
Bachmann does already have a very successful N scale range. The mechanisms are there. Additionally, Bachmann owns the Graham-Farish range of British N scale models. So your point is lost there.

3.The skarloey engines are better off made as toys so you can make your own in 009 scale.
True - but they are toys and lack the scale aspect of a good model. About the only thing the toys are good for is providing the face.

I am making a model of Duncan, using the face from the wooden toy and the chassis from a Bachmann N scale 0-4-0. It's a fun project, but not everyone is up for this level of model work. A ready-to-run model would not be that big of a deal for Bachmann and would be appreciated I'm sure.

I agree with you, sir. Even if it is a very slim chance, we might see the Narrow Gauge engines pop up. And there is another thing, not only is it the Tenth Anniversary of HO Thomas & Friends, but it is also the year of Season 16, the return of the Skarloey Railway to Thomas & Friends, so that might stack the odds up a little more.

Well, as everyone else has been saying, we might be pleasantly surprised with this year's announcements. And don't forget, it is the tenth anniversary of the Thomas & Friends Bachmann Range.

First two very possible but Daisy or BoCo very unlikely due to the very small list of appearances and though there may be demand I feel it will not be enough.

You never know. We did not expect Donald and Douglas, and despite appearing a little more often than the other characters I mentioned, nobody expected them at all. So if Bachmann can pull Donald and Douglas out of their pockets, then I'm sure BoCo or Daisy are just as likely.
