Have you tried AnPRR@groups.io where there is a large selection of sound files.

General Discussion / Re: 2018 Catalog

Bach Man,

Thanks for your reply. I was perhaps not clear what I meant, the catalog downloads to my PC but then
there is no way to save it for offline viewing.

The 2018 catalog no longer has a download option. Is this an error or deliberate.

I see some very irresponsible statements in this thread. 110v is NOT safe, it can kill without any water involved. Any voltage over about 50v should be considered unsafe depending on the circumstances.

Britannia Metal is a form of pewter with a melting point of around 255 deg C.

This site has useful information with regard to composition and properties of metals

On30 / Caution when opening Climax
October 28, 2011, 04:16:10 AM
Yesterday I wanted to remove the cab from my Climax (Purchased new and never previously opened) to investigate adding firebox flicker. I removed the 2 screws holding the cab in place and gently began removing the cab only to have the boiler fall to the floor as none of the screws shown on the exploded diagram to secure it had ever been put in during manufacture, only the cab was holding it in place. I should perhaps have been more careful but had looked at the diagram before starting. Some damage has occurred and small parts lost, but I would just like to warn others in case mine is not the only one which has slipped through.

I use a Canon 4400F scanner which can create multipage PDF files and I am sure some others must have a similar facility, so before buying extra software check that supplied with your scanner to see if is capable of doing the same.

The UK sourced Dynamis is supplied with a 100 - 240VAC switching power supply with a 16VDC @ 2.3A output.

Another long shot, the handset takes a total of 4 AAA batteries but in two separate compartments. Have you checked both?

For some information on a rail construction project, including 16km of tunnelling, taking place here in Johannesburg have a look at this site.

Mike,
I have just tried my Dynamis on my inverter which I use to run lights, PC and a home theater system during power failures. It is a 24vdc unit giving a 220vac 2000W output and is probably of Chinese origin.
No problems are experienced with operating the Dynamis off this supply so it would appear that your problem lies somewhere else or that particular Dynamis is faulty.
Seeing as the Dynamis uses a switchmode power supply I would not have thought it would be over sensitive to the input waveform.

General Discussion / Re: How dumb can you be

We have had a number of similar incidents here in South Africa with teenagers having been killed while doing what they call "Train Surfing" on the roof of a commuter train.
This is despite many warnings regarding the danger of electrocution.

Rusty,

IE8 has a "Compatibility View" button on the righthand side of the address bar, have you tried this to see if it resolves your problem?
