Thank you, love the B&W photos, great looking layout, looks like fun.

Sorry to bother you,  but by any chance do you have any color photos of the TS cars?

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this list. I have seen some really nice suggestions that i never would have thought of.   We have given Mr B and Larry H some great ideas for the future, hopefully they will make some of them a reality.   ;)

The passenger car and freight car kits are a big help in building your 1:22.5 empire.  I did not expect to many more ready to run cars in every road name under the sun.  That would be unrealistic. I would however like some new locos.  Even I they are undecorated, it would be an improvement.

Mr. Bach-man what say you?

I'd love it too, but I'm just telling you the reality of the situation.
Have fun!

Ok ...sigh.

Thanks for listening

Perfect idea!  I would love that.  I have seen several folks purchase the BBT 2-8-0 upgrade kit, (but like you said, not cheap) So their is an intrest in 2-8-0s and building them off of the 4-6-0 does not seem to bother anyone.

Mr. Bach-man

Will Bachmann expand the Big Hauler loco line?  The 4-6-0 is nice and gets great reviews, but some variety would be nice.  Obviously the Big  Hauler line is still doing well (or else you would have ended it) so I'm sure any other locos you produced would sell.  I would love to see a DRGW/C&S/DSP  2-8-0 or 2-6-0 in the Big Hauler line.

Thank you

I find it hard to believe that Bachmann got into the 1:20.3 market with locomotives and freight cars but they are NOT going to sell passenger cars.  If you are going to suggest using a different vendor for passenger cars, then why bother making the freight cars when yo can get them form other vendors also.  The same hold true for what locomotives Bachmann offers.( i.e. Bachmann will not make X loco becuase another vendor is prooducing somthing like it-for a lot more money)

People buy from Bachmann  for a reason, for me its good quality at a reasonable price with great service and warranty.  I'm sure Bachmann could produce 1:20.3 cars that are just as nice and cost a lot less than what the other guys are selling.  Doing so, would further increase interest in the 1:20.3 market, IMHO.  I am in deep with 1:22.5 equipment, and now with LGB gone and no new Big Hauler locomotive offerings I have to decide what direction I want to go in, if I want to stay in large scale narrow gauge.  I would love to stay where I am if Bachmann would offer some other Big Hauler locos.  But can't afford to move up to 1:20.3 if the passenger cars are going to be so expensive.

Sorry for the short rant-

Large / command control for large scale
October 08, 2009, 01:33:49 PM
Question,

I know you can use DCC in large scale, and MTH is using its DCS in Large scale.

So, could you install a Proto 2.0 board into a Bachmann Big Hauler or Spectrum loco and control it with DCS?

Could you install an Electric RailRoad command board and use Lionel's Legacy or TMCC Cab 1?  I know folks in O Gauge 2 rail and S gauge use the ERR or Railsounds 4.0 in their equipment.

Great info kevin,  love the photos, they bring the comparision to life.  I'm sure this will help a lot of folks who may have started in the Big hauler/LGB and Delton and now see most new offerings in 1:20.3  with limited offerings 1:22.5 & 1:24.

thank you

Great point Dave,  glad you asked.

Bach-man,  any chance you guys are working with Soundtraxx to develop a TBIII for the Williams line?

Rumor has it you guys are working a some big things that will position you as a MOJOR player in O scale

CandO,

Great photos, thank you for posting them. I agree WBB locomotives are awesome runners.  You can run them into the ground.  I also agree about keeping them simple to keep the cost down.  I do however think it is time to upgrade to a TBIII by now.  The cost should not be an issue.  I would love to have sounds equal to the ERR  sound board. I would also like to have these interiors for our locos from WBB.

If we could at least have these as an upgrade option that we could install are selves that would be great.
