Bach-man:   ANY REMOTE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING THE PHONE NUMBER TO CALL IN SERVICE.  Everyone say's call service, but no phone number is supplied.  I"ve sent messages re: the couterweights via the Bachman service form but no responses.  I am like a lot of people that bought the engine, I DO NOT have a paper receipt and my Master Card bill for the purchase has long been paid and shredded, I had no reason to keep it as I figured the engine would not have problems and be subject to all this trouble to get something fixed or replaced.  Bachman has my warranty and information card that I sent in the day I received the engine and HOPEFULLY it found a place in the paper shuffle that they can find and verify it.  Jeeeeesus, I'll be glad when all this has been handled and we can move on with a prefectly marvelous engine........Thank's for your help...!!!!   Mac McCalla, Huntington   Beach, Calif.

Large / Re: K-27 Plow brackets

You may wait a long time for the brackets you mention. !! However, you can buy some nut/bolt/washer white metal castings from Ozark Miniatures and put them in the existing holes in the boiler, they look fine and you can get them anywhere, now.!!

YES, the Phoenix sound system IS available for the K-27 .  I saw one in So. Calif. last weekend at a train show so be patient, Phoenix will probably let you know where to get one.

Sorry, the post was meant to be for the AVAILABILITY and not the price, an oversight on my part. Just wanted to let people on this site know of their opportunity to order one now and possibly receive it within a few weeks.  It won't happen again !!

On30 / Re: 1/50 scale vehicles

Well, anyone looking for other than cars/trucks in 1/50th scale needs to check out the "First Gear" webb page.  www.firstgearonline.com   and check out their crawler tractors. These are all die cast, including the tracks and are incredibly detailed.  I have several different models and they fit perfect with Bachman's rolling stock and engines.  I made several flat car loads out of a couple of the dozers and they match perfect.  Just an idea for those of you that are tired of model As and model Ts........give it a look, you'll be glad you did..........Mac

Dennis:   I have done two of my "Connies" and they both came out fine.  I used "Ozark Miniatures" classification (or marker lights) if you like that name better,  for the original installation.   For the bulbs I used grain of wheat bulbs mfg'd by 'Miniatronics Corp". who are based in Deer Park, NY. 11729.    I use either 12 v or 14v bulbs, depending on how bright I want them to be. The part number for the 12v bulbs is:   18-012-10 and the number for the 12v bulbs is:  18-014-10.

I've been using these bulbs for years in all the loco's I put the lights on and never had a problem or had one burn out.  The "Ozark" lights are made for large scale and are already drilled for the insertion of the grain of wheat bulb. If you decide to use them, just remember to scrape the paint off the back of the jewels that come with the light (white) for the engine, (red) for the tender.   I just tapped into the headlight wire on the engine and it works fine.........no big deal.    Out here in So. Calif. most large hobby and train stores carry these bulbs so it shouldn't be a hassle finding them, and if there is, I'm sure you could find them on the internet......that's about it, good luck !~!      Mac.  BTW, if  you want to see what they look like, my webb page is:  4LargeScale.com,   then go to my name and click on it, lot's of pic's to keep you busy....!!

Move to Southern California and you won't have that problem.  Of course your engines and rolling stock could become sun bleached and windblown......!!  Enjoy .

Matt.  I don't see a problem with that, you flatter me but that's ok, it's good for the ego.........Whenever I get my K- 27 and figure out how dirty to make it, I'll take  yours under my wing and make it real..........how's that  ??        Mac

Do you know the total length of the piece ?
No, I don't have the engine yet and don't know of anyone that does, they are supposedly "on the water now", so I don't know the exact dimentions.     Mac

Hopefully before you!
Just so's I can harrass ya!

You gonna trash it?

I can see it now.
Cab hanging off, holes in smokebox (with flickering lights inside), handrails hanging, laundry on the tender.

Yea it wil be changed, but not quite that bad, just enough to look used and make you wish it was  yours........so how about that !!l
