Large / Re: G scale bobber caboose info needed

Thanks loco Bill,
Can you tell me how the flat roof is attached to the caboose body?  It looks like it maybe glued onto the body from the photo on e-bay that currently has a p&c caboose for sale. I was hoping that I could replace the missing flat roof easily with another like kind bobber caboose. Much appreciate your vast knowledge on the subject.

Large / G scale bobber caboose info needed
February 26, 2017, 07:02:46 PM
Hello Bachmann man,
I have been searching e-bay for months now for a Purdee & Curtin Lumber caboose to go with my shay engine. I found 1 caboose on e-bay lately but it is missing its roof, Can this be replaced as a part? I can buy a simular caboose with different road name fairly inexpensively if the roof is able to be removed and replaced without damaging it in the process. Appreciate any knowledge on this subject. Why are these road names so hard to find lately? Seems that I have found every road but Purdee & Curtin, go figure right!

Thanks Bill,
I find asking a few questions before you dig into something you are not sure of comes back several times over. I would have never guessed that these parts were pressed fit only! I really appreciate your knowledge and sharing your experiences as it truely is a pleasure speaking with you as you have helped me several times now with issues I have came across.

Hello Folks,
I just found a old starter set that I have been searching for now for months, Emmitt circus train #90020. This was sold as new never used or opened and I do believe that was true. However upon receiving and inspecting my new G scale set I found 2 of the engines brake shoe assemblies broken off. I see this part is available from Bachmann parts, but how do you remove and replace this part? If any one has first hand knowledge of this task I would greatly appreciate any info or steps on replacing items as I don't want to brake anything else trying to fix what all ready is broken.
Sincerely,
Dan S.

Hello Bachmann forum,
I'm a newbie to model trains and on receiving my first G scale starter set ( Silverado ) my engine came with a broken engine cab. Bachmann was very nice in sending me a new replacement cab at no charge, but after removing the 2 visible screws under the cab it did not release cab from body! I don't want to force anything and brake something else so can anyone share the proper procedure in removing the cab on this engine? Thanks much, Dan.
