On30 / Re: The decreasing amount of Bachmann equipment?
November 02, 2023, 05:52:43 PM
As far as I am aware, they make their models in batches, depending on how well the market is doing for the model in particular. They run the batches for a year I think. I may be totally wrong, but that's what I understand is going on.

On30 / Wish list?
September 30, 2023, 03:09:13 PM
Would it be appropriate if I post this? If not, feel free to let me know or delete the topic.

I just wanted to start up a Bachmann On30 wish list. Now I do not know if there is already a topic on this, but as I was reading through the forums, I noticed where a forum topic acknowledged that Bachmann does read the forums, and take suggestions. With the lack of participation, found on the forum, I would hate to see Bachmann On30 fade out. This is a niche scale, but with enough fan fair, and excitement, we just may be able to return to the peak of it's popularity.

I don't have much on my personal wish list, other than an 8-18d 2-6-0 like the large scale ones.

Thank ya'll

On30 / Re: Tips on Cutting doors in die cast cab?
March 22, 2023, 12:00:08 PM
Well I want to keep the steel cab design. The other cabs that I've browsed are wood designs, instead of the Baldwin riveted steel cabs. If I could find the same kind of cab that is a kit, I would most definitely get it, but there isn't that option sadly; at least that I am aware of.

Thanks

On30 / Tips on Cutting doors in die cast cab?
March 21, 2023, 11:00:02 AM
I was wondering if there are any good tips in requards to modifying the bachmann die cast cabs. I would like to cut the doors open on the ten wheeler, so I can open and close them. I don't know of a good method other than taking a dremal and hacking the door out, and scratch building a replacement door. Are there any more good tips out there in reguards to opening the doors on the die cast cabs?

Thank ya'll

On30 / Re: Mogul tender wires.

I'm in the same frustrating situation as you are in. I've been told to use a Multi-Meter to find where each wire goes. I just hope I can find the 2 pin plug and a 4 pin plug.

Hope this helps

On30 / Is On30 dead to Bachmann?
February 19, 2021, 04:38:38 PM
I've noticed Bachmann really hasn't been turning out many things for On30. Are they planning to faze them out, or continue to make off the wall models that won't sell well?

On30 / Re: The 2019 On30 Generic Wish List

Is this a wish list for everyone? I wish for an 8-18d 2-6-0, like in the large scale category. Something for us who model the 19th century :)

On30 / Re: How about adding a 2-6-0. an 8-18d 2-6-0

Let's see if I can find some people interested in this type of locomotive. Again it's great of kit bashing.

This may be beating a dead horse in the head, but it never hurts seeing how the community is growing. At least I hope it is.

Hope to hear from the silent ones!

Sadly Royce, it seems like we're not going to be able to win an 8-18d 2-6-0 This year.

I mean they would sell greatly! C'mon Bachmann, Give us an engine that's good for kit bashing into what most narrow gauge railroads had. They had stuff from the 19th century and converted them as time went on. They recently restored the Glennbrook locomotive, which is a master piece. A lot of models can kit bash the engines into 2nd hand logging locos, or use them as 1st class locomotives in the 1800s.

The can go from this

to this

Well the they had the C&S 2-6-0 to work fine on 18" curves. Even the Forney locomotive with it's tender is able to navigate the radius. They can do it. The G scale models also navigate very tight curves too.

I really do hate to beat a dead horse, but I highly think that a proper narrow gauge locomotive from the 19th century would in the best interest in Bachmann. As I'm seeing, there hasn't been alot of interest in On30. If a 19th century locomotive such as the beautiful 8-18d 2-6-0, that has major possibility's for conversions to a 4-4-0, to logging locomotives and so much more. Bachmann in my humble opinion, "and I don't want to hear any complaints about my opinion" Bachmann has not been doing so well in the community. This is why I am putting this suggestion up. You've already got these engines in 1:24.3, so I don't understand why not in On30.
