Jim,

I have used the LGB #67403 Wheel Sets with built in power pickups on several Big Hauler tenders over the years.  They easy to install and reliable. Yes they are on the upper end price wise.

I've used these also, pricey but they work well and are very free-wheeling. Personally, I would avoid, or at least minimize, making any modifications that are going to add drag to a Ten Wheeler.

Super Clean works for me about 75% of the time. Let it soak and then rub with a soaked cotton ball and pencil eraser. A lot of rolling stock isn't actually painted, the base color is just the color of the plastic it was cast with.

Day late and a dollar short (story of my life) but here goes -

Turn on the controller first and THEN the train. Without a signal from the controller (it's off or the train goes out of range) the locomotive goes right into full tilt boogie mode.

Our locomotive runs fine, but the controller has some issues. The wiper for the speed control doesn't make good contact.

Large / 4-6-0 Rebuild

Hi Y'all!

My boyfriend and I are trying to rehab an old 4-6-0 we found at a yard sale. It's the 90091 AT&SF with a ver 4 chassis and the insides of the drive look like it was rode hard and put away wet.

We'd like to replace it with one of the anniversary chassis with the metal side rods. Does it matter which one?

Thanks, Sophie
