Yes it is the 0-6-0 Loco, and there is no traction tires on it at all? The cars it pulls are all the same size as the loco, all spin free.It just seams metal wheels on
metal rails,no traction, everything seems fairly level. How would I get traction tires on this little locomotive.
Has those steam rails attached to the wheels.

HO / Ho Christmas Train spining on Flat EZ-Track
October 21, 2018, 12:39:22 AM
Hi all,I have a ho Christmas train,runs great.All wheels turning,has 4 or 5 Cars on a flat oval track.
Engine seems to be slipping on track, like it's not heavy enough? It's a small engine, with plenty of power.
But seems to light, you can see the wheels turning faster than it's going. Is there something I can do to
fix this so it won't spin so much? not much room to add weight? any help appreciated.Thankyou.

yes that is it. There is a plastic piece that pushes on the shaft of the worm gear on the truck, and the drive shaft connects to that piece. It's loose on the worm gear. This is the problem. What does this mean? I need a new truck.I don't think that piece is sold by itself?

Thankyou for all the suggestions. The motor is in the center, with a cuppler on each side, and a short drive shaft on each side of the motor to the trucks.I don't see any bad gears,or anything touching the track. Both drive shafts spin with diesel cover off. This is weird it happened all of sudden, motor sound like it's winding out,and engine barley moves.

HO / Hawthorne Redsox HO Diesel Engine

Hello,I have the Hawthorne HO Diesel Engine, all of a sudden it slips on the track really bad, hardly even moves. Is this engine supposed to have tires on it? If so on what wheels? the steel wheels do not have groves in them. They measure 12mm across center.Don't remember if this engine had rubber tires on it or not,or where they where located if at all.All i know is something happened all of a sudden, was working ok.Driveshafts seem to be turning ok,and I don't see any bad gears at all.  :(  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.Thankyou.

Hi there,The loco has the E-Z mate mark 2 couplers, and the cars have the old atlas horn hook couplers.I think I can change the loco Coupler with a Athearn 90601 Ho Horn Hook Coupler (X2F) looks the same as the old horn hooks, and mount for the 90601 on the engine looks the same,to change it to the horn hook style, and not have to change all the cars.I know confusing, but sound right to you? thanks for your help.Beginner at this and there's a million different couplers out there.

Maybe change the one on the car that hooks to the engine,or vice a versa?? Any Idea's how I can do this?, and what parts I need to do it?? Please help if you can, much appreciated.Thankyou.

HO / Re: Model: 44579 crossing gate does not work?
January 28, 2017, 12:46:01 AM
Hi,I don't see any bulges for gears on this loco.Has to be something to do with contact from the loco to the track right? Seems to be plenty of weight to open and close the gates,I am not seeing anything that could be causing this. All I know at this point is with that center plastic piece off the loco runs fine through the track.Has to be loosing contact over that plastic piece somewhere.

Hello,Center piece is setting in ok,don't see anything hitting the centerpiece.Seems like the only way it works is to remove the center piece.Something weird going on here.

HO / Model: 44579 crossing gate does not work?
January 24, 2017, 11:33:20 AM
Hello, I have the Model: 44579 crossing gate, and the Santa FE Diesel engine, when the train gets to the crossing gate,it stops going through it.I have tried to push down on the engine and still don't work,If I push it through, the gates close and open fine, just won't go through on it's own power, stops completely like I shut it off going through the gate track, there is power on the rails in the crossing. When I remove the center piece of plastic, the engine goes through fine on the track,It's not weight because pushing it down makes no difference.Any Idea what this is?? How can I fix this? Thanks for any info on this.
