HO / Norman Rockwell Christmas Trolley set
November 28, 2018, 03:42:16 PM
This trolley runs off a battery pack that uses AA batteries connected to the track..  The tracks are reversing tracks.  Are these tracks the standard reversing tracks so that after Christmas I could use the tracks with a regular power pack and loco? Or are the tracks different and not compatible with with dc operation. Thanks in advance.

HO / Re: EZ Command and 2 separate tracks

Thanks for replying.  I probably did not make my question clear enough.  I want to access the sound functions on the engines on each non connected oval of track. So is there an off the shelf product that can wire up both ovals from 1 Command controller or am I going to have to solder wires from 1 oval to another?  Thanks

HO / EZ Command and 2 separate tracks

Suppose I set up 2 ovals of track.  They are independent of each other and not connected in any way.  How can I run and control 1 dcc equipped engine on each oval simultaneously?   Is there a Y type splitter available so I can use the wire supplied with the Command unit to connect both ovals?  Soldering would be my last resort.  Appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

HO / Re: New York City elevated train motive power in HO?

You guys are great to spend the time to provide me with inspiration/ideas.  That Smithsonian diorama is superb.  My preliminary idea is to do a point to point set up with a station at one end.  The company that makes the el structure has a 90 degree curve kit but the track radii are 10 and 12 inches.  Would flex track bend that much?
Lots of questions to be addressed.  Planning is key I suppose.
Thanks again to you guys for your help.

HO / New York City elevated train motive power in HO?
February 12, 2018, 05:40:32 PM
A company named ITLA makes laser cut wooden kits of the NYC and Chicago elevated train structures in HO and N scale.  NYC motive power was small Porter steam engines. In 1903 the line was electrified with passenger coaches using electric motor trucks were used.  Does anyone have any ideas how I could electrify an off the shelf coach?  The size could be an overton coach or even larger like the Bachman 1880-1920 coach.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
