I don't really dabble in N or G Scale stuff, and I don't plan on getting any narrow gauge stuff until after more stuff comes out for it, so I'll skip those and go straight to the HO. For me, Stepney would definitely be cool! However, I'm most interested in the classic series engines that would be seen working on the island everyday as part of the main branchlines: Ffarquhar, Brendam, and Little Western. So, again, while some of the other classic series characters, such as Arthur, Harvey, Murdoch etc., would be cool, I'm not really chomping at the bit for those as much. Although, Murdoch would be insanely cool!!! Anyway, I'm just looking for them to fill out the rest of the main classic series characters, after which the afore mentioned would definitely be of great interest to me.

BoCo, my #1 hope FOR ME

As for rolling stock, I think some more variety in van toolings would be great, so not just repaints of the ventilated van, but more like fish vans or others seen in the yard or in goods trains like the Flying Kipper. Also, I'd love for them to bring the well wagon back, and maybe begin a line of loads for the rolling stock sold separately, like oil drums, stacks of lumber, pipe loads, and other stuff like that as seen in the series. I know some of these are available elsewhere, but its just a thought. The Old Branchline Coaches as seen in Edward and Gordon would be nice, although I highly doubt that one. And as I have seen many others say, the red express coaches would be very nice as well. Also, the china clay wagons from the classic series would be very nice as well!

Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Thomas & Friends in 2020

This doesn't really have much to do with the subject in this thread. However, I figured you guys would know. So I've only just started collecting Thomas an Friends and my first locomotive I got was Mavis. However, I noticed that on the top and on the side plates, there were scuff marks on her finish right out of the box. Is this kind of stuff normal for Bachmann or what? Let me know what y'all think. Thanks!

What other classic series characters can you see Bachmann making, or do y'all eventually think that they will make a transition to CGI series characters only?

Cheeky_ULP:

Thats funny you should mention the rerelease of the flatbed, as I just read about it about an hour ago, and I am very glad for that, assuming its the same design. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

And you're probably right about the 6 Ton Wagon though, especially since its only very briefly seen ONCE EVER in Percy Take the Plunge in the television series. And speaking of that episode, I could probably just paint Troublesome Truck #4 brown as the 4 plank trucks seen in the quarry from that episode, but I digress.

Thats a good thing about the Bachmann Branchline having some pf those other rolling stock you mentioned, which makes perfect sense since its based on British rolling stock!
I'll have to look into that! Thank you for these helpful bits of information. 😁

Thomas & Friends / Re: Rolling Stock Re-Releases

I doubt they would re-release old designs, unfortunately. However, I don't mind some of the other ones you mentioned. Many of the wagons were re-purposed and re-released as other rolling stock, for example the cattle wagons. They used the body of the cattle wagon for Troublesome Truck #3, only adding a face, and same with the GWR Cattle Wagon, but with different livery. It'd be nothing for me to take the face off, put it on a van or something, and repaint those in the original brown: same with the salt wagon. You'd just have to take the face off.

What I'm talking about is rolling stock that aren't being reused with a body that isn't available in any form, unlike the afore mentioned, like the flatcar, well wagon, or RF container wagons. Also, any like the 6 Ton Wagon, which I read that were reused and repainted for Troublesome Truck #4. What I mean by this is, unlike those like the cattle wagon, to repaint Troublesome Truck #4 in the livery of the 6 Ton Wagon at the same level of crispness is just simply unattainable for me to accomplish.

Again, my opinion. I rest my case 😂

Thomas & Friends / Rolling Stock Re-Releases
June 01, 2019, 08:23:43 PM
Dear All:

Bachmann has discontinued a good bit of rolling stock that I personally would like to get my hands on and stock up on, while they currently are producing some rolling stock that I find less desirable than some of the things that were discontinued: for example flatcar with paint drums vs the current water tanker, or the 6 ton wagon vs the live lobster coach, ( that was probably only seen once in the new series.) While I do understand that they are keeping up with the new series and generation of Thomas and Friends lovers, it may be due to my preference for the Classic Series? I don't really know, but what do you guys think?
