HO / Blinking light
February 17, 2008, 08:58:03 PM
I asked for advice on how to cope with a blinking headlight on my Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 and most of the responses have  nothing to do with this - off on other tangenst. I'm not interested in the merits of  various DCC systems. I have an NCE Power Cab system and if there is away to solve this little problem by adjusting CV's I would like to know about it instead of everybody beating around the bush. The matter at hand is how to stop the engine light from blinking. Nothing else!

The track is not the problem.

HO / Blinking headlight

I have a Spectrum 2-8-0 (DCC with sound) and I notice the headlight blinks on and off at regular intervals. Is there some adjustment that needs to be made? It's not shorting out.

HO / Western Maryland 2-10-0
February 07, 2008, 05:34:42 PM
I just purchased a Western Maryland Spectrum 2-10-0. It makes all the sounds but the engine itself will not move even when the wires are properly connected. What didn't I do?  I went through the procedure of coding it.

HO / Pilot of 4-8-2 scrapes rails
February 06, 2008, 04:06:58 PM
I have an HO Bachmann Spectrum C&O 4-8-2. The big problem with it is that the pilot or "cow catcher" is mounted too low and runs along the top of the rails and bumps into the crossovers, frequently derailing. How do I solve this problem?

The stores that handle Bachmann products in between Albany and Buffalo know nothing about, nor have heard anything digital switches.

For three years the "Bach-Man" has been promising DCC switches.  Well, where are they?

I think you have to use a little imagination and somehow mount permanent knuckle couplers on them available from Walthers.  I have the Prussian 4-2-0 that is the same thing. They're pretty much for display anyway as the little motors quickly burn out. They have the same motor in them as the two little men on a handcar.

General Discussion / Niagara with sound

When is Bachmann going to make a New York Central Niagara (4-8-4) with sound available? They did it with the Norfolk & Western "J."  There would be a much better market for a Niagara with sound than the N&W engine.

General Discussion / "Emily"

Bachmann makes Thomas the Tank Engine products. A new locomotive is called "Emily". Can the "smiley face" and rolling eyes be removed from the smokebox door?
