Thomas & Friends / Re: Thomas & Toad

:D You are correct, I have been on the Bachmann UK site & I cannot get itmes sent to the US  :-[ They didn't have what I wanted either. No worries there are other sources out there & the internet is a great place to search. I spent about 1 hour until I found the sight (link previously posted) that has Toad & several other itmes I am interested in. NOW THE KICKER, the US $ is at an all time LOW therefore the cost is going to be great BUT I want them so...... :-\
Thanks again to all

I thought so but I wanted to be sure!!
That would be stupid for Hornby & Bachmann not to coincide with each other.

Thomas & Friends / UK (12Vollt DC) vs US operating
January 31, 2008, 12:35:38 PM
This might appear to be a REAL STUPID question but I have to ask it... I was looking at purchasing Thomas Engines on eBay from the UK. I was told the UK Thomas Trains run off of 12Volt DC & the train would not operate with standard US transformer.....
I am confused, can anyone help with this??

Hi Bach Man
I have been reading the strings and viewing the UK Bachman engines. It appears to me that Bachmann has the ability to release most ANY Thomas engine providing Bachmann is willing to step up and "redesign" a few EXISTING stock engines that are currently available in the UK market place. The finesse required to take a UK engine & make it a Thomas charachter doesn't appear all that difficult. Most of the inner works are already there!! I am waiting on Mavis to be released, I am sure we all are HOWEVER if the wait is much longer I will build one of my own. The gentleman who made Salty, GREAT job and thanks to all for the info on how Salty can be built!! I think more & more sctach building is going to take place thus intrest in mass produced product might be limited.
Just a though from a newbe to Thomas
