I HAVE TWO 4-6-0 AND I JUST RECEIVED A NEW 28 TON SHAY TRAIN WITH SOUND.  I WISH THEY WOULD PUT SOME INFORMATION ABOUT WHERE THE PARTS IN THE PACKAGES GO.  ONE PART IS HEAVY 1/2" X 3/4" X 1-3/4" LONG.  DOES THIS GO SOMEWHERE ON THE LOCO?  I TRIED RUNNING THE NEW TRAIN AND IT GOES BUT NOT FAST.  DOES THIS PART MAKE THE TRAIN GO FASTER IF I MOUNT IT WHEREVER IT GOES?
I am sorry but I meant I bought a ON30 28 ton two truck Climax(sound).  I don't think that will make any difference on the slow speed but I still feel some kind of literature would help to identify the contents.  I don't know what that part I described above is or where it goes.  I guess I can call the repair shop at Bachmann.

THERE ARE MANY STEAM TRAINS THAT ARE MADE HO BUT NOT AS ON30.
SUCH AS 2-10-0, 2-8-0, 6-6-0, ETC.

I AM TRYING TO HAVE TWO HO TRACKS RUN SIDE BY SIDE FOR AN ON30 TRAIN SET. I FOUND THIS #6 CROSSOVER TRACK ON THE WEB. WILL IT WORK? ADVERTISED AS A BACHMANN TRACK BUT NOT SHOWN IN BACHMANN CATALOG OF TRACKS. CONFUSED

Hi, I am retired and a recent widow at 73 years old.  I am trying to run model trains.  After making all the usual new expensive mistakes I have finally set up a small 4' X 6'  table setup.  I have set up two new engines both are 4-6-0 DCC steam loco's.  One has sound.  One has freight cars and the other is a Passenger train set up.  Using Bachmann DCC controller.   I cannot locate ON30 Diesel engines on the web.  So am I right to assume there is no such thing as ON30 Diesel trains available? Is there an idiot book or a video for a non electrician to show me how to hook up switches for track switching.  And how to add sound to the other 4-6-0 engine.
