N / Re: Bachmann Old-time freight cars

There are a ton of sites to find Bachmann freight cars. I use this site a lot. It'll has a bunch of forums just for N scale. If you have a question about anything, one of these members are real quick to reply and get you pointed in the right direction. Just type in  nscale.net.  You get tons of help and support

Thanks Jerry, but in all honesty I've found it's just sooo much easier to sit at my desk with some graph paper,a good sharp pencil & the erasers you put on the end of a pencil(make sure they're the FAT erasers)& go from the ideas in my head. I tried that post you suggested,it's another site not really helpful to Mac users

Thanks,I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions when it comes to doing the wiring part so I don't "fry" anything although I know it's not rocket science & I do have some electrical know how. I re-checked your profile listing to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong, but on this end it's showing your email as hidden

I would just like to say thanks a lot to the people that have responded to the questions I've asked,it has put me in the right direction. Bachmann has done a good thing by putting something like this up. Before long I'll be able to post some pics

Yea,I've looked up those part #'s to keep from having to cut track. I've already used them in my track layout design I'm doing. I just need to know how close I can lay 2 parallel tracks together

Are you talking about 6inch or 6ft & is that outside edge to outside edge or center like the radius is measured

I got a simple question I'm sure some one can answer, when laying 2 tracks parallel to each other, how close can they be?

Not exactly sure how I'm going to run my loops, most likely on a flat surface w/the outer loop running independent from the inner so it'll just go around & keep the industry buildings in the center of the inner loop

Hey Joe, I tried that but I'm on a Mac so I couldn't dwnld that  one or the one frm Atlas, I've used the one frm RailModeller but it's not that good. It's not up to date & not all the parts that are avail are listed

Thanks Les,I really do appreciate the good info as it will really help in designing my layout. I've looked at several sites to try to get the dimensions of the N scale EZ track but all I find is the price list. I use an architecture/drafting ruler so I can get an accurate drawn out plan. If there's any other good tips ya have that'll help I'm all eyes & ears

Thanks Les, after I read your response it sounds like a good idea which makes a lot of sense. Now all I need is to find out is the different track lengths I.E. turnouts
