HO / Bachmann E-Z Track Rail Height
November 16, 2008, 08:18:50 PM
All,
Does anyone know what the bachmann rail code is for the ones with the built in roadbed? (code 100 or 83) I need to know because I am going to get a kadee magnetic uncoupler and don't know which one to get (again, the one for code 100 or code 83). Thanks.

HO / Re: Bachmann decoder Problem (Please Reply)

yes, the Gilford Guy is correct. This is the Acela Express, made by bachmann spectrum. The instructions on the website aren't very clear. It says to pop the back plate off, but how do I do that? I started to pry it with a screw driver, but it seems like I will snap it if I go further.

It has one engine in the front and one in the back. It is NOT the Acela HPP-8.

HO / Bachmann decoder Problem For The Bach Man
September 27, 2008, 12:56:16 AM
Hey everyone! I have my Acela Trainset and an E-Z decoder 8 pin plug, but I don't know how to dissassemble the locomotive. I have gone to the Acela Modelling Techniques Page, but it doesn't say how to pop off the back plate very clearly. I tried to push the sides apart and pry out the back, but it seems like I will snap it because it won't budge. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone explain to me in extreme detail how to install my decoder? I am very new to DCC and need help.  ???

Thanks,

General Discussion / Track Cleaning
July 12, 2008, 03:33:43 PM
Hi. I am wondering if I could use lysol disinfecting wipes as a track cleaner for the Bachmann e-z track system. However, would it have a chemical reaction and possibly wreck the tracks?

Hey! I bought lots of life like cars for my new bachmann dcc equipped engine. The only problem is that my dcc engine has different couplers from the life like coaches. I tried to couple them anyways but they wont stay coupled. Any ideas on how to convert one side of one coach of the life like coaches so that they can all couple? This means I will have one coach with one E-Z Mate II coupler on one side and a life like coupler on the other.

ok. thx.

oh. ok. What track cleaners would you reccomend for me, a guy on a budget?

Thanks, but they are all expensive. I don't have a 50 or 40 foot boxcar right now. I only have a Santa Fe, and an Acela Express. Is there a cheap track cleaning car out there for about $15?

How do I take it off the dummy? It seems to stay connected to the dummy everytime I uncouple the cars. Do I just grasp it and pull?
#12
Another Puzzling Question! I was about to send my acela dummy back, but was wondering about the drawbar. Do I keep the drawbar that came connected with the dummy? Or do I send it back? I just want to make sure that if I send the drawbar back with the dummy, I get a new dummy with another drawbar back. Because if I get the dummy back without a drawbar, I wont be able to couple it to my best HO set ever!

Thanks! This has solved my engine problem! Now I need to worry about keeping the track clean. I do not want to walk around my track with an eraser. Do you know where I can buy a cheap (around $20 or less) track cleaning car so that I can just attach it to a locomotive and let the car do the rest?   ;D

are there any track cleaning cars I can buy? I see them on model train layouts where the engine just pulls the track cleaning car around and WALAH! Clean!

Thanks for all of the replies! I am very busy today, but I will clean the trains and track as soon as I get home.
